Either centrifugal or positive displacement pumps may be used. Carbon dioxide or chemical-foam fire extinguishers should be used. There are no specifications for commercial adiponitrile. United States bulk prices in 1991 for methyl vinyl ether, ethyl vinyl ether, and butyl vinyl ether were listed as about 5.78/kg, 6.28/kg, and 6.08/kg, respectively. [Pg.116]

In normal practice, inhibitors such as hydroquinone (HQ) [123-31 -9] or the monomethyl ether of hydroquinone (MEHQ) [150-76-5] are added to acrylic monomers to stabilize them during shipment and storage. Uninhibited acrylic monomers should be used prompdy or stored at 10°C or below for no longer than a few weeks. Improperly iahibited monomers have the potential for violent polymerizations. HQ and MEHQ require the presence of oxygen to be effective inhibitors therefore, these monomers should be stored in contact with air and not under inert atmosphere. Because of the low concentration of inhibitors present in most commercial grades of acrylic monomers (generally less than 100 ppm), removal before use is not normally required. However, procedures for removal of inhibitors are available (67). [Pg.165]

Sodium carbonate monohydrate crystals from the crystallizers are concentrated in hydroclones and dewatered on centrifuges to between 2 and 6% free moisture. This centrifuge cake is sent to dryers where the product is calcined 150°C to anhydrous soda ash, screened, and readied for shipment. Cost Fa.ctors, The dehvered costs of the phosphate rock and sulfuric acid raw materials often account for more than 90% of the cost of producing NSP, thus the production cost varies considerably with plant location. Because the rock is richer in P2O5 than is the low analysis NSP product, NSP need not be produced near the phosphate mine. However, deUvery of sulfuric acid and shipment of product to market are important cost factors. Most United States NSP plants have been located east of the Mississippi river, with concentration in the southeastern and extreme southern parts of the country where the largest use of the product has occurred.
