Requirements before each shipment

Before each shipment of any package, the following requirements shall be [Pg.49]

In addition to the requirements imposed by ST-1 on certain packages prior to their first shipment (para. 501), certain other requirements in ST-1 (para. 502) are to be satisfied prior to each shipment of any package to enhance compliance and assure safety. These requirements include inspection to ensure that only proper lifting attachments are used during shipment, and verification that requironents in approval certificates are complied with and thermal and pressure stability have been demonstrated. In all cases these requirements are deemed necessary to reduce the possibility of having an unsafe package shipped in the public domain and are aimed at prevention of human error. [Pg.53]

Inspection and test procedures should be developed to ensure that the requirements of paras 502(a) and 502(b) are satisfied. Compliance should be documented as part of the quality assurance programme (see para. 310). [Pg.53]

First inspect and/or test comprehensively the complete containment system of an empty packaging. The radioactive contents may then be loaded into the packaging and only the closure components which were opened during loading need be inspected and/or tested as part of the assembly verification procedure. [Pg.54]

In the case of packages where containment is provided by radioactive material in special form, compliance may be demonstrated by possession of a certificate prepared nnder a qnality assnrance programme which demonstrates the leaktightness of the source(s) concerned. The competent anthority of the country concerned should be consulted if such a procedure is envisaged. [Pg.54]

The approval certificate should identify any requirements for closure of a package containing fissile material which are necessary as a result of the assumptions made in the criticality safety assessment relative to water in-leakage for a single package in isolation (see para. 677). Inspections and/or tests should be made to ascertain that any special features for prevention of water in-leakage have been met. [Pg.55]

Imports of biological products into the USA are restricted by the requirement to have the manufacturing facilities licenced and inspected by US inspectors or by local inspectors, if these are recognized by the USA. Furthermore, biological products are subject to a permit for each individual shipment, quarantine for the product and tests by the authorities before release. Veterinary biological product licences will not be issued for products from countries "...known to have exotic diseases, including but not limited to, foot and mouth disease, rinderpest, fowl pest (fowl plague), swine vesicular disease, Newcastle disease, and African swine fewer (9 CFR 104.2). [Pg.117]

Executing, or execution, processes recognize three supply chain business models Make-to-Stock (MTS), Make-to-Order (MTO), and Engineer-to-Order (ETO). In the MTS company, forecasts drive production requirements. Customer shipments are made from a finished goods inventory. An MTO company has an order in hand before it produces. Boeing s commercial aircraft business and Dell computers are examples. An ETO company must design parts of the product for customer requirements. Each delivered product to a customer is unique. A Configure-to-Order company, not specifically addressed in SCOR, is a hybrid of the MTO and the ETO models. [Pg.264]

For the transport of dangerous goods as limited quantity, a list is required specifying the net weights of each class of hazardous substances planned for the shipment. This list should be furnished before hand to the forwarder and also has to be attached to the transport documentation. Furthermore, it should be noted that goods have to be packed in a combined packing. [Pg.1050]

The consignor shall have in his or her possession a copy of each certificate required under Section VIII of these Regulations and a copy of the instructions with regard to the proper closing of the package and other preparations for shipment before making any shipment under the terms of the certificates. [Pg.73]

Note 1 Before the first shipment of any package requiring competent authority approval of the design, the consignor shall ensure that a copy of the approval certificate for that design has been submitted to the competent authority of each country (see para. 558 of the Regulations). [Pg.131]
