Patents Bibliographies

The bibliography given below is classified according to the aspect of the subject mainly dealt with, but some references, of course, deal with several aspects. In addition there is a considerable body of patent literature concerning specific inhibitors. [Pg.763]

Considerable interest was placed on 2-vinylfuran in the years 1930-1950 and a number of patents and publications on its polymerization and copolymerization appeared. This work was aimed at exploring the potential of the new polymer and concentrated therefore, on descriptive aspects of its preparation, properties and possible applications (for bibliographies on this topic, see3, 80 81)). Little was done to shed light on the more fundamental aspects of the systems studied until about 20 years ago. The present publication reviews these later studies. [Pg.69]

The bibliography is sorted alphabetically by the first author. It is in this way an author index of the first author. Patents without authors are placed according to the patent numbers in the text. [Pg.509]

In this chapter reference has been made to a few issued patents but many do not appear in the bibliography. Practically all the issued patents involving the use of hydrogen fluoride as a catalyst are for details of equipment design or operation, and no chemical principles are involved. The number of these patents has now become very large. [Pg.230]

Because the electrochemistry of pyridines has not been reviewed before with regard to industrially significant processes, this review will therefore cover the period 1801-1983. Citations from 1801-1975 have been compiled in Swann s bibliography.1 These citation listings were broken down into six indices author, patent, product molecular formula, synonym, product name, and product type. A computer-aided search of Chemical Abstracts and the World Patent Index covered the period 1967-1983. Other sources such as the reviews on heterocyclic electrochemistry by Lund2 and Nelson3 contained useful citations. Nelson s review has a valuable table that summarizes the synthetic work by indexing the parent heterocycle. [Pg.168]

C A Selects appear once every two weeks and contain titles, bibliographies, details and abstracts of recently published papers, reports, patents, conference proceedings etc., in broad areas in chemical sciences. [Pg.261]

The bibliography includes 11 patents [13 to 23] with inventor, year of application, patent number, and one of the characteristic abstracts describing the fundamental subject of the patent. [Pg.13]

The arrangement of the Bibliography has already been referred to in the Preface. Many of the data of the manual have been obtained from books, and it would not be feasihle to give a reference for every item. Moreover, much of the information given can be found in several of the quoted books. However, quite a number of statements made in the manual contain references to articles in periodicals or to recent patents which have been listed in the Bibliography. References to journal articles are designated by a numeral, and to patents by the letter P and a numeral. [Pg.3]

The letter P with a numeral or numerals refers to patents quoted in the bibliography, section "Patents. ... [Pg.19]

For the convenience of the reader the Bibliography has been subdivided into several groups books, bulletins and manuals, catalogues, articles in periodicals, and patents. It comprises principally the publications which have been used in the preparation of this manual. The list of books on ex-... [Pg.175]

The literature on explosives in scientific and technical journals is overwhelming, and the numbers of patents issued annually throughout the world are legion. The references in the Bibliography have been limited mostly to publications which have appeared within the last fifteen years and particularly to those which served to illustrate certain points raised in the text or some important developments in the explosives field. [Pg.176]

Examining publications first, we note that between 1960-1980, approximately 5400 CVD-related publications were generated and are compiled in the bibliography by D. T. Hawkins. More recent years, indexed in electronic databases, exhibit much higher publication rates. For example. Figure 14 shows the number of journal articles, worldwide patents, and US patents generated each year from 1970 to 1999,... [Pg.18]

TO the chemical worker, references to periodicals, books, and patents are the means by which the wealth of published scientific knowledge is made accessible. Without the elaborate network of abstract journals, bibliographies, reviews, and indexes which exist today, the research worker would be little better off than the first man who discovered the use of fire. An important phase of locating any article is the identification of the periodical in which it appeared, or, as is more often the case, the abbreviations of its title. [Pg.102]

Literature searches are also available from OTS on a fee basis. These are performed to meet special needs which are not covered by a currently available OTS Selective Bibliography. Under this service OTS will compile lists of relevant publications in its collection rf government research reports, unclassified and declassified AEG reports, technical translations, and OTS files of government-owned patents. The fee for this service is 8 per hour, and the customer may limit the time to be spent on a search. Additional information on these searches may be obtained by writing to the Technical Information Division, OflBce of Technical Services, Washington 25, D.G. [Pg.181]

Any doubts concerning the significance of patents as sources of chemical information will be dispelled on perusal of recent annual reports on Chemical Abstracts, which during 1949 listed 11,390 patents, distributed among 29 of the 32 sections (3). The bibliography section of recent books and review articles in various chemical fields generally carries a goodly proportion of patent numbers. [Pg.198]

This bibliography illustrates the extensive aids which are available for explorations of chemical patent literature. For the convenience of the reader, it is presented under the following headings ... [Pg.218]

West, C. J., Bibliography of Paper Making and United States Patents on Paper Making and Related Subjects, 1931, Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industries, New York, 1932. [Pg.221]

Items under this category are too numerous to attempt an extensive listing herein, especially in view of the existence of excellent bibliographies such as the one by von Hohenhoff (18) and the List of Periodicals Abstracted by Chemical Abstracts [50, 1J-314J (Nov. 25-Dec. 10, 1956)1 and annual Supplements [51, 1T-27J (Nov. 10-25, 1957), 53. 1J-32J (Dec. 10, 1959)], 52, 1J-40J (Dec. 10, 1958). Valuable review articles have appeared in Chemical Reviews and the volumes of Annual Survey of American Chemistry. Outstanding reviews, in some cases an annual feature in the January issue, have been published in the following journals. (Those marked with an asterisk regularly feature a patent abstract or patent list section.)... [Pg.221]

Many chemical patent references are to be found in books, which in turn are usually readily located through bibliographies, publishers catalogs, or abstracts of book reviews. Many of the American Chemical Society monographs contain abundant patent references. The following list is illustrative of the variety that is available both as to breadth of field and the scope within the field. [Pg.222]
