Documentation indexes

Do provide for amending the document index before revised documents are issued. Don t keep all your documents in one place. [Pg.306]

Guidance documents to help prepare ANDAs are listed together on CDER s Guidance Document Index Web page in the following categories. [Pg.265]

A document index should be maintained to log documentation by reference/title, version, and physical storage location. As the status of a document changes, the document index will need to be updated. [Pg.78]

The Validation Summary Report (VSR) concludes the validation activities, detailing the deliverables and identifying any deviations from the Validation Plan. At this point a release notice can be issued and the project closed with activities such as document indexing and storage. [Pg.615]

Documents and publications of UNESCO are listed and indexed in United Nations Documents Index, A description of the documentation system used therein appears in Vol. 2, No. 1, January 1951. These documents may be consulted in depository libraries selected by UNESCO, a list of which can be obtained on request, or purchased individually. All documents intended for distribution to the public may be received on a blanket annual subscription for 30, placed with International Documents Service, Division of Columbia University Press. 2960 Broadway, New York 27, N. Y. [Pg.475]

Other compound-related information such as internal document indexes and patent status information is normally kept in separate information systems and is not usually linked to the in-house chemical information system. For the few companies that have integrated these additional types of information, the convenience of having it readily available with other chemical information has been of benefit to users. [Pg.29]

The next step up in integration places as much information as possible in the chemical structure or reaction DBMS. For example, Molecular Design Limited s MACCS system has been used to store structures, reactions, biology, spectra, inventory, and document index information. This approach provides a good degree of data integration but suffers from poor performance for large databases. Additionally, the retrieval capabilities of the structure DBMS are inadequate for certain types of information. [Pg.32]

Document indexes are usually based on classification by t)q)e of document, serial number, date, and revision. They can also be classified by subject, size, source, and sometimes by destination. There are also very many cross-references which can be useful purchase order number, responsible project co-ordinator, etc. There are many possible schemes for numbering systems. [Pg.244]

The World Patent Index of Derwent Information Ltd. is a broad collection of international value-added patent documents from 40 patent-issuing authorities. The bibliographic database contains 11.6 million patent records with 5.5 million images (October, 2002) and grows by 1.5 million patent documents each year. The classified and indexed documents (since 1963) are sometimes provided wdth additional abstracts or significant titles. [Pg.270]

GORE. The CORE Electronic Chemistry Library is a joint project of Cornell University, OCLC (On-line Computer Library Center), Bell Communications Research (Bellcore), and the American Chemical Society. The CORE database will contain the full text of American Chemical Society Journals from 1980, associated information from Chemical Abstracts Service, and selected reference texts. It will provide machine-readable text that can be searched and displayed, graphical representations of equations and figures, and full-page document images. The project will examine the performance obtained by the use of a traditional printed index as compared with a hypertext system (SUPERBOOK) and a document retrieval system (Pixlook) (6,116). [Pg.131]

Other organi2ations have assumed important positions in the field of patent documentation. IFl/Plenum Data Corp. (formerly Information for Industry) began in 1955 to index U.S. chemical patents by the Uniterm Index system. Uniterm indexing was eventually extended back to 1950. The acquisition in 1971 of Du Font s in-house indexing system and staff resulted in a more powerful system, the Comprehensive Data Base (CDB), which now covers U.S. chemical patents frommid-1964 to date. [Pg.48]
