Production statistics on alkanolamines are not available, but they are sold in thousand-ton quantities and are available for bulk shipment except for DMAMP, AB, TRIS AMINO, and AMPD (the latter two being crystalline soHds). TRIS AMINO concentrate is available in bulk. AMPD is manufactured only in low volumes to meet limited demand in certain specialized uses. Similarly, 2-AB is manufactured only to meet demand for one end use. 

Worldwide production of pyridine bases in the late 1980s was estimated at thousands of tons a year. Production was concentrated mainly in the United States, Western Europe, and Japan. Production statistics are not complete for any of the principal producing areas and trade statistics are also incomplete.

Economic Aspects. U.S. production statistics for the period 1980 to 1988 are given ia Table 4 (220). Exports amount to ca 20% of annual United States production, and imports amount to almost 10% of domestic production. The main foreign producers are Japan, South Africa, and Canada. South Korea, Brazil, and The People s RepubHc of China are minor producers. Japan s Nippon Soda Co., Ltd. is the world s third largest producer. Two other Japanese producers are Toyo Soda Co., Ltd., and Nankai Chemical Industry, Ltd. 

Production. Worldwide cocoa bean production has increased significantly over the past 10 years from approximately 1.6 million t in the 1979—1980 crop year to over 2.4 million t in 1990. The production share by country has also changed dramatically in the last 10 years. The big gainers are Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Ivory Coast. The large gains in Malaysia and Indonesia have helped to diversify production and partially shield the market from adverse weather-induced supply shocks. The biggest losers in production share have been Brazil and Ghana. Table 2 Hsts production statistics for these countries. 

Economic Aspects. Since the 1970s cinnamaldehyde has been produced in significant quantities by Frit2sche Dodge Olcott (FDO), Haarmaim Reimer (H R), and Dutch State Mines (DSM). However, by the end of 1989 DSM was the only remaining producer for this material. Production statistics are Hsted in Table 3. 

H2S and HCN have likewise led to its use for scrubbing the off-gases of processes where these noxious pollutants are formed. Production statistics are rather sparse but the main production plants are in Europe, which produced some 11 000 tonnes pa in 1990 and the USA, where production is expected to exceed lOOOOtpa in 1995. Other major producers are in Japan ( 5000 tpa) and Canada (2700 tpa in 1990). The 1991 price for technical grade NaC102 in the USA was 2.65/kg. 

U.S. production volumes of trichloroethylene in recent years have been reported as follows 299 million pounds in 1978, 319 million in 1979, 266 million in 1980, 258 million in 1981, and 200 million in 1982 (USITC 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983). U.S. production demand for trichloroethylene in 1983, 1985, and 1986 is estimated to be 235, 180, and 170 million pounds, respectively (CMR 1983, 1986). The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) has not published more recent production statistics because there are only two U.S. manufacturers (HSDB 1994). 

Based on the fact that pi-acids interact with the trinuclear gold] I) pi-bases, TR(carb) and TR(bzim), the trinuclear 3,5-diphenylpyrazolate silver(I) complex was reacted with each. The dual role of -hcxanc as a component of refined petroleum fuels and as a highly refined, specialized product for other end uses lead to complications in making estimates of actual production levels. Just as with MD methods, MC simulations require an initial equilibration period so that property averages are not biased by very poor initial values. Typically various property values are monitored to assess whether they appear to have achieved a reasonable level of convergence prior to proceeding to production statistics. We now focus more closely on this issue.
