Manpower

The rapidly expanding requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, and the broadening areas of expertise contributing to the processes of R D, development, manufacturing, marketing, validation, surveillance, and in particular its innovative potential are increasing the demand for skilled manpower. 

The educational systems of different countries are providing a creicial competitive advantage (or disadvantage) for essentially R D-based industries like the pharmaceutical and the biotechnological industries.

Most companies hire a drilling contractor to supply equipment and manpower rather than having their own rigs and crews. The reasons for this are threefold ...

The capital cost estimates are generated by the Engineering function, often based on 50/50 estimates (equal probability of cost overrun and underrun). It is recommended that the operating expenditure is estimated based on the specific activities estimated during the field lifetime (e.g. number of workovers, number of replacement items, cost of forecast manpower requirements). In the absence of this detail it is common, though often inaccurate, to assume that the opex will be composed of two elements fixed opex and variable opex.

Specifically, within the aerospace industry, for aircraft, the airframe manufacture itself is one of the major cost drivers, using the factors already addressed. Let s look at the character of how we would build an aerospace vehicle. There is typically a lot of manpower dependence. The industry itself is cyclic because the demands ebb and flow. There is typically little automation simply because of relatively low production rates, and there are very few customers. But, despite all those characteristics, there is typically also a large capacity that is founded on many highly skilled personnel, and the orientation is much more high tech than that of most other industries. Without product excellence as a driving factor, the whole industry would be an unworkable mess.
