Manpower planning

Most oil companies offer a planned lubrication maintenance (PLM) service that will meet these requirements with the minimum of effort on the part of the customer. These schemes provide logical routing for the lubrication operative, balanced workloads and clear instructions to those responsible for specific tasks associated with lubrication and fault-reporting facilities. Many schemes are now designed for computer operation, which also accommodate plant and grade changes, operation costs and manpower planning. It is essential that any such scheme should be adaptable to individual requirements. [Pg.885]

Consequently based on the coarse task description, an approximate project s task s amount is estimated. Bottom-up different qualitative models are used to define required abihties of manpower (Drumm 2005, Kessler WinkeUiofer 2008). Activity categories and qualification groups are some of those models. They help to structure the rough project task amount and to create employees requirement profiles (Kessler WinkeUiofer 2008). Further on the personnel costs are consulted. Constitutively manpower is described within an interval (Drumm 2005). In the long run quantitative models are used for detailed manpower planning. The use of a quantitative model for roughly defined project s tasks in industrial business is at the beginning of development (Drumm 2005, Kessler WinkeUiofer 2008). [Pg.935]

At the beginning of a project with roughly defined project s tasks, the company may distinguish, in the first coarse manpower planning, between 4 alternatives alternative 1 includes few employees (1-3) alternative 2 includes some employees (4-5) alternative 3 includes several employees (6-7) alternative 4 includes many employees (over 8). Every alternative is a range of a possible number of employees (Drumm 2005). [Pg.936]
