The standard does not in fact require follow-up audits but clearly if follow-up action is necessary to verify any corrective actions that have been taken, it should do two things verify that the agreed action has been taken and verify that the original nonconformity has been eliminated. Follow-up audits may be carried out immediately after the planned completion date of the corrective action or at some other agreed time.
