Most large computer companies have canned programs for PERT, CPM, and manpower leveling for sale.Such programs are a necessity for a project manager. 

Should the process be modeled on a fundamental or empirical level, and what level of effort (time, expenses, manpower) is required for either approach ... 

On this occasion, an economist was involved John Maynard Keynes, who had been recruited from Cambridge to serve as a Treasury official, provided a brief on 23 August 1915 for the Chancellor, in which he argued that, with the British economy at full employment, any diversion of manpower to the army would be an alternative, and not additional, to subsidies. He reckoned that the current level of subsidies to France represented the output of 500,000 men, and those to Italy the output of... 

The nominal MITRE estimate of potential plant construction by the year 2000 has been developed by assuming a build up transient similar to that assumed by the A E firm but continuing the peak level construction manpower achieved in the sixth year through to the end of the century. This level of construction activity is capable of producing a total of 3.6 MM bpd of synthetic liquids by the year 2000. Table IV shows the potential contribution of the three synfuel scenarios until the year 2000. These projected levels of synfuel activity will produce by-product sulfur and the projected quantities are shown in Table V for each of the three scenarios. 

At a practical level, then, it seems necessary to foster a selected number of professionally oriented courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level to ensure that subsequent employment will lead to personal and professional development opportunities. The utility of physical evidence cannot be advanced without providing adequate training, manpower, and funding to allow attainment of these goals. 

In order to increase the U.S. coal production to the 1 to 1.3 billion tons per year level by 1985, we must not only determine what is needed directly in the form of capital, manpower, equipment and similar requirements, but we also need to determine what other actions need to be taken directly and indirectly and what restraints there are from an environmental, legislative, political and social standpoint. Having determined what these are, we then must study how these obstacles and restraints can be removed, how long it will take to remove them and what alternative approaches there are to solving the problems we perceive. 

I believe that we now need to expand the Critical Path Method of analysis to cover all the items which are directly and indirectly involved in the expansion of the coal industry to the 1 billion tons per year level. These include the usual ones such as capital, manpower, equipment, and, in addition, the environmental, legislative, political and social items. The latter have become as important as the other more common items. 

These two general types of models represent the extremes and various levels of sophistication lying somewhere between these are possible. Given the time and manpower it is wise to develop both types of model and compare them with one another and with plant data. The authors are aware of several situations where the simple empirically identified models have revealed important effects not accounted for in the theoretical models, and thereby led to a considerably better understanding of the system. 

Key questions to be addressed by the Commission included What is the mission of pharmacy practice that should serve as the basis for pharmaceutical education What types of pharmacy manpower are needed to fulfill this mission What should be the curricular emphasis in an entry-level pharmacy practice degree What should be the length of the curriculum and title of the degree When should differentiation occur in the continuum of pharmaceutical education and training, and what arc the roles of postgraduate educational experiences What are the needs of the pharmacy enterprise for pharmaceutical scientists and clinical scientists, and what are appropriate models for such training What changes in accreditation standards should be made by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education to facilitate the broad implementation of such reforms ... 

One of the items to be covered in start-up is manpower planning what skills will be required, who will supply them, and what are the quantities Operator manning levels tend to justify themselves, so it is not a good practice to just add more operators for start-up, but rather, to supplement with people who will not stay with the project once it accomplishes full operation. 

Level B more advanced monitoring requiring special equipment and more manpower... 

The number of monitoring sites that should be used in the study depends on the diversity of the land use patterns, meteorological regimes, source configurations, and sensitive receptors. This number is limited by the number of technically suitable sites available, the constraints of money and manpower available, and the level of statistical significance or confidence desired in the results.
