Methods of analysis adopted under this Directive should be edited in the standard layout for methods of analysis recommended by the International Organisations for Standardization. 

The process hazards analysis is conducted by an experienced, multidisciplinary team that examines the process design, plant equipment, operating procedures, and so on, using techniques such as hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), and others. The process hazards analysis recommends appropriate measures to reduce the risk, including (but not limited to) the safety interlocks to be implemented in the safety interlock system. 

Process safety improvement efforts will include performance goals that define the desired future state for the various elements of the process safety system. Examples may include 100-percent reporting of process safety incidents and near misses, 100-percent on-time completion of process safety training, and timely resolution for all hazards analysis recommendations. 

Once a sample larger than 3x is collected, a question remains as to what to do with that sample prior to assay. The withdrawn draft guidance ANDAs Blend Uniformity Analysis recommends sample sizes l-3x to be collected, but that the sample weight tested (assayed) should be equivalent to the dosage used. Unfortunately any subdivision of the sample is likely to induce either potency losses or segregation,. so the logistics of how to subdivide such a sample remains a challenge. 

The International Society of Exposure Analysis (ISEA) was established in 1989 to foster and advance the science of exposure analysis related to environmental contaminants, both for human populations and ecosystems. The membership promotes communication among -all disciplines involved in exposure analysis, recommends exposure analysis approaches to address substantive or methodological concerns, and works to strengthen the impact of exposure assessment on environmental policy.

Standards and standardization play a major role in reliability assurance. Only by using standard methods for product quality control can a product be introduced into the market. Quality standards are very important, especially for food analysis. Recommended standard (or etalon in French) matrices as well as methods are defined in terms of accuracy and precision.246 The European Union has prescribed strict quality standards for laboratories and the methods of analysis to be used in laboratories when carrying out official food quality control.

The enterprise identifies safety and environmental impacts associated with system implementation. Applicable environmental laws and regulations should be identified, and the enterprise should ensure that these are complied with by any alternative solution. The enterprise completes an environmental impact and safety analysis to determine the impact on and by system products, and the impact of their life cycle processes on the environment, or to personnel. Use of materials, or generating by-products, which present a known hazard to the environment, are to be avoided to the extent feasible. Where not feasible, provisions must be provided for proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials or by-products. Results of these analyses influence trade-off analysis recommendations and assessments of system effectiveness. 

The enterprise quantifies the impact of identified risk factors on the system or alternative being considered based on exposure to the probability of an undesirable consequence. For system effectiveness assessments, each element of the system architecture developed to date is assessed to determine what can go wrong, and if it goes wrong, what impact it may have on the system. For trade-off analyses, risk levels assessed during fife cycle cost, system and cost effectiveness, and environmental impact analyses are prioritized and reported as part of trade-off analysis recommendations.

The frequency of analysis recommended takes into account the potential loss of performance that may occur if a given component is out of specification at a typical level for a certain period of time. It is not yet clear whether the combination of statin and niacin will increase the incidence of diabetes. This is of significance as recent meta-analysis has shown that the association of incidence of diabetes with statin therapy remains uncertain. In particular the authors of the meta-analysis recommended that future statin trials should be designed to investigate whether statin treatment is associated with increased risk of induced diabetes (Rajpathak et al. 2009). Evaluation of the longer term impact of niacin s effect on insulin resistance and glucose metabolism awaits the results of longer-term clinical trials. Perhaps this may elicit or refute the diabetogenic effect of niacin.
