Hydrogenation reactions with

Jessop and co-workers studied asymmetric hydrogenation reactions with the catalyst complex Ru(OAc)2(tolBINAP) dissolved in [BMIM][PFg]. In both reactions under investigation - the hydrogenation of tiglic acid (Scheme 5.2.10) and the hydrogenation of the precursor of the anti-inflammatory dmg ibuprofen (Scheme 5.2.11) - no CO2 was present during the catalytic transformation. However, SCCO2 was used in both cases to extract the reaction products from the reaction mixture when the reaction was complete. [Pg.231]

If an aliphatic amino group is next to an electron-withdrawing group such as CO2R, CN, CHO, COR and has a hydrogen, reaction with aqueous nitrous acid gives a diazo compound (Eq. 11.4). Such compounds are used widely in 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions, which will be covered in Chapter 12. [Pg.342]

Hydrogenation reactions with LiAlH4 and addition of acidic compounds XH, afford good derivatizing and scavenging schemes for compounds like 66 (see Table 6), which are very reactive149. For example, compounds 29, 30 (Table 4), 40 and 41 (Table 5) are derived in such a manner. [Pg.411]

The principle of donor hydrogen reaction with coal has been applied in various ways in processes for coal liquefaction. In one application, hydrogen donor solvent is generated from the coal itself. The solvent, usually a distillate fraction of the coal liquid product, is hydrogenated and recycled to the coal liquefaction reaction. [Pg.301]

It forms cerium(II) hydride, CeHa, when heated under hydrogen. Reaction with HaS yields cerium sulfide, CeaSs. [Pg.200]

In conclusion, we have found a convenient and practical method for the selective reduction of C=0 bond of a wide spectrum of a-keto-)S, -unsaturated esters with Ru(p-cymene)(TsDPEN) as catalyst. The transition metal catalyzed transfer hydrogenation reaction with good selectivity and high efficiency offers possibilities to provide the optically active a-hydroxy-/l, y-unsaturated esters with chiral catalysts. Table 3.8 gives different substrates that can be reduced with Ru(p-cymene) (TsDPEN) complex in isopropyl alcohol. [Pg.140]

The number of combinations is considerably increased if in addition to liquid deuterio-ammonia other reagents are also employed (e.g. acids) and use is made of the difference in the orientation rules for hydrogen reactions with acids and bases which was described above. [Pg.196]

As usual, this hypothesis is associated with the names of Bodenstein and Semenov. The latter introduced a concept of partial quasi-stationarity realized for some intermediates. Christiansen described the history of the problem as follows [36] "... the first who applied this theory was S. Chapman and half the year later Bodenstein referred to it in his paper devoted to hydrogen reaction with chlorine. His efforts to confirm his viewpoint were so energetic that this theory is quite naturally associated with his name . [Pg.152]

Let us give one more example considered in ref. 5. In the scheme of hydrogen reactions with oxygen for the totality of Z vertices corresponding to the substance OH, H, and O and of R vertices corresponding to the reactions... [Pg.181]

In the first route, methylbutenol is made from acetone and acetylene followed by hydrogenation. Reaction with methyl isopro-penyl ether yields methylheptenone (6). The second route involves the reaction of isobutylene, formaldehyde and acetone (7 ). Methyl vinyl ketone is an intermediate. Finally, methylheptenone is made by alkylation of acetone with prenyl chloride which is derived from isoprene (8). The initial product is the terminal olefin which is isomerized to the desired isopropylidene compound. [Pg.210]

The TPR profiles corresponding to samples NiNaHC and NiKHC show only one peak, indicating the existence of only one reduction process (see Figure 3.4) [18]. The obtained catalysts were tested by a hydrogenation reaction with 1-hexene [24,25]. [Pg.109]
