Sanitary performance

Alternative means for liquid discharge have been developed, largely from other centrifuge types, such as centripetal and skimmer pumps. Decanters have been fitted with discs to improve clarification performance, and sanitary performance has been improved by the development of clean-in-place (CIP) methods. [Pg.9]

Special demands are made to the laboratories that perform radiographic testing. They must observe sanitary norms and rules of radiation safety in their activities. Transportation of the equipment for implement works on site has to ensure observance of the requirements of the radiation safety. [Pg.957]

The adhesive strip on the outside of sanitary napkins is conventionally applied by hot melt transfer coating in-line with the production of the napkin itself. The adhesive in this application performs a function in the product beyond just holding the parts together. Thus, the requirements are more numerous ... [Pg.744]

Cemented and Welded Cans. Beer and carbonated beverage cans, made by the now familiar cementing (22) and welding (20) processes, are shown in Figure 8. These processes could also be used for sanitary processed food cans. Enameled TFS materials are used for these cans. Corrosion performance of the enameled, cemented, and welded cans is similar to that of enameled soldered cans for products which do not require the cathodic protection usually supplied by the tin coating. [Pg.18]

Inspection and testing of the storm/lndustrlal and sanitary sewers In the area Indicated the sewers were In good condition and only minor amounts of leakage were occurring. Nevertheless, minor repairs were performed. [Pg.19]

Regulatory status In 1998, Lopez Canyon Sanitary Landfill received conditional approval for an ET cover, which required a minimum of 2 years of field performance data to validate the model used for the design. An analysis was conducted and provided the basis for final regulatory approval of the ET cover. The cover was fully approved in October 2002 by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board—Los Angeles Region. [Pg.1082]

The waste milk in dairy wastewaters mostly comes from start-up and shut-down operations performed in the high-temperature, short-time pasteurization process. This waste is pure milk raw material mixed with water. Another wastewater of the dairy sector originates from equipment and tank-cleaning wastewaters. These waste streams contain waste milk and sanitary cleaners that are the principal waste constituents of dairy wastewater. Over time, milk waste degrades to form corrosive lactic and formic acids. Approximately 90% of a dairy s wastewater load is milk. [Pg.1237]

American Society of Sanitary Engineering, Performance Requirements for Thermal Expansion Relief Valve. American Society of Sanitary Engineering, Bay Village, OH, 1990. [Pg.142]

Many of these enclosures are designed to meet certain standards. For example, the American Society of Sanitary Engineers (ASSE) has developed Standard 1060, Performance Requirements for Outdoor Enclosures for Backflow Prevention Assemblies. If an enclosure will be used to house a backflow preventer, this standard specifies the acceptable construction materials for the enclosure, as well as the performance requirements that the enclosure should meet, including specifications for freeze protection, drainage, air inlets, access for maintenance, and hinge requirements. ASSE 1060 also states that the enclosure should be lockable to enhance security. [Pg.159]

D. Schneider, Construction of a high performance reactor. Ultrasound in Environmental Engineering, A. Tiehm and U. Neis (eds.), TU Hamburg-Harburg Reports on Sanitary Engineering, 1999, 25, 101-121. [Pg.156]

The sanitary product must meet a number of requirements, most important here are dimensions and performance. The requirements as far as dimensions are concerned will be obvious. The products must fit certain, often small, spaces and they must be connected to standard service pipes and drains. [Pg.196]

Waste disposal and treatment facilities have their own requirements for acceptance of waste. For example, wastewater may be discharged into sanitary sewer if it meets the requirements of the POTW batch discharge permit. This permit will list the analytes, methods, and discharge limitation concentrations (action levels). Disposal facilities (e.g. landfills) have lists of analyses that must be performed as a condition of waste acceptance by the facility. [Pg.84]

Pressure vessels are usually constructed of fiberglass or stainless steel. Fiberglass is typically used for industrial, non-sanitary applications. Stainless steel vessels are preferred for sanitary applications, where high-temperature (up to 85°C) cleaning performance may be required. [Pg.108]

A complete visual representation of the manufacturing process in flow chart format should be included. This flow chart should indicate the step in the process, the equipment and materials used, and the room where the operation is performed, and should provide a complete list of the in-process controls and tests performed on the product at each step. The diagram should also include information, including a descriptive narrative, on the methods used to transfer the product between steps (i.e., sterile, SIP connection, sanitary connection, open transfers under laminar flow units, etc.). [Pg.171]

All works should be performed in compliance with safety requirements of the Russian Radiation Safety Standards (Russian abbreviation NRB-99) and Main Sanitary Nuclear Safety Regulations (Russian abbreviation OSPORB-99). [Pg.330]

The calculation of population radiation effects is performed on the basis of different atmosphere stability categories. The estimated maximum annual effective dose for Severodvinsk population at the boimdary of the Sanitary Protection Area (500 m from radioactive release point) will be 0.1 pSv. It is considerably less than ImSv (the population dose limit under normal operation conditions in accordance with Radiation Safety Codes -NRB-99). [Pg.358]

Thus it follows from the studies performed that the strong-base fibrous anion exchangers are efficient sorbents of sulphur dioxide in the gas phase and can be used in sanitary air purification. [Pg.385]

Premises have to be so designed, constructed, maintained and organised so that operations performed are in clean, sanitary and orderly surfaces that can be effectively sanitised to prevent the contamination of the drugs. Equipment used in operations should be able to be easily and effectively cleaned to prevent contamination of the drugs. [Pg.100]

Mexico significantly strengthened chemical controls in 2005 and in 2006. Officials from the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS) of Mexico started to perform without notice inspections at the premises of chemical importers. COFEPRIS has also installed new computer equipment at 17 ports of entry to record the importation of precursor chemicals. New laws and regulations have been passed in Mexico to restrict the import of precursors, in particular ephedrine and pseudoephedrine, and regulate their sale by ... [Pg.6]

In the performance of its functions, the U. S. Food and Drug Administration has issued Service and Regulatory Announcements 2, as revised from time to time, on Definitions and Standards of Foods, No. 3 on certification of colors, and also Notices of Judgement under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, which contains information necessary for nearly all food processors. Many states and cities have sanitary codes to regulate the production and sale of foods. There are available legal texts which cover this phase of the subject. [Pg.236]

Air quality monitoring in Poland is performed by The State Inspeetorate for Environmental Proteetion SIEP (within the stmcture of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry) with its provincial (voivodship) branches VIEPs The State Sanitary Inspectorate SSI (subordinated to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare) with its provincial branches VSIs industrial plants or companies and research institutes, foundations, etc. [Pg.318]

When the identification step is completed, the contaminant has to be normally determined in quantitative terms. This procedure is performable on the spot of identification using, specifically, gas chromatography combined with atom emission detector, or in laboratory setting of sanitary and epidemiological stations, and environmental departments, assuming that a specific analytical technique to quantify detected agents is available. [Pg.82]
