Remote file systems

Users with appropriate system privileges must be able to export documents in their native formats to any local or remote file systems to which they have access. Documents must be available for viewing in a standardized read-only format. Users must be able to view documents even if they do not have the native application. Users must also be able to match a printed or exported document to the original source file within the EDMS by means of unique system-generated identifiers referred to as watermarks. Watermarks must not obscure any information on the document and must be in a standardized format. Watermarks must not be obscured when the document is bound.

A few remote procedure call (RPC)-based service.s. such as NIS (network information service) or NFS (network file system, both explained below) use UDP. TCP is a bl-directlonal, stream-oriented protocol, A constantly open communication channel is maintained between two programs communicating via TCP. Standard data appears at the receiver s side with some delay in exactly the same sequence as produced by the sender. Very small urgent messages (out-of-band-data) can be transmitted outside of the normal sequential order.

The three basic Internet appHcations of remote login, electronic mad, and file transfer are also budding blocks of more sophisticated appHcations that offer increased functionaUty and ease of network use. Tools such as Gopher, Wide Area Information Servers (WAIS), and World Wide Web (WWW) go beyond the three basic Internet functions to make information on the network easier to locate and use. Detaded descriptions of these tools are avadable (10). This trend toward more powerful, user-friendly networked information resource access systems should continue as Internet grows and matures. 

The RMDB consists of two mayor sections computer data storage and retrieval system, and backup microfilm data bank file. The computer data storage and retrieval system is used for die standard reliability and maintainability data listing, special calculations, and searches. This data bank system has been established to facilitate remote terminal access compatible with the GIDEP remote terminal programs. The microfilm data bank file is used for storage and distribution of supplier s documents, failure analysis curves, description of methods used in the collection of the data, and additional background information too extensive to include in the computer data bank. 

The telephone is still one of the primary means of communication for clinical trial personnel. The telephone is used for both voice and digital communications. Voice communication is the normal person-to-person telephone call. Data communication with the telephone is the transmission of digital data from one location to another. Various software packages have been developed for this purpose. Using a voice modem connected to a telephone, a user on a local computer can connect to another remote computer that has a modem connected to a telephone and download or upload data files. Local and remote users can also communicate with text messages. The local computer operator can even control the remote computer for trouble-shooting or system update. 

Remote login is the ability of a computer user in one location to establish an on-line connection with another computer elsewhere. Once the connection is established, the remote computer is used as if it were a hard-wired terminal of that system. Within the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) suite, this facility is called Telnet. Using Telnet, an Internet user can establish connections with a multitude of library catalogues, other bibliographic databases, university information systems, full text databases, data files (eg, statistics, oceanographic data, meteorological data, and geographic data), and other on-line services. Many of these connections are available to any Internet user and can be accessed without an account. 

This SOP should detail any physical measures which may enhance system security such as building access controls and also any measures, be they procedural or technical, required to enhance security at remote input terminals. With 21st century database systems, the provision of logical access controls to meet the requirements of, among others, 21 CFR Part 11" should not be an issue. Consideration should be given to the use of user profiles or other such additional measures to enhance security on sensitive files such as donor confidential/personal information. 

The carbon-silicon bond has two important effects on the adjacent alkene.
