Nickel is found as a constitutent in most meteorites and often serves as one of the criteria for distinguishing a meteorite from other minerals. Iron meteorites, or siderites, may contain iron alloyed with from 5 percent to nearly 20 percent nickel. Nickel is obtained commercially from pentlandite and pyrrhotite of the Sudbury region of Ontario, a district that produces about 30 percent of the world s supply of nicke. 

Budapest between the two World Wars was a vibrant, cultnred city with excellent theaters, concert halls, opera house, and museums. The city consisted of ten districts. The working-class industrial outskirts of Pest had their row-houses, whereas the middle-class inner city had quite imposing apartment buildings. The upper classes and aristocracy lived in their villas in the hills of Buda. 

Another dynamic iastmment, the Scentometer, is the basis for odor regulations ia the states of Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Nevada, and Wyoming, and ia the District of Columbia (324). The portable Scentometer (Bameby-Cheney) can produce dilution ratios up to 128 1 ia the field. The Scentometer blends two air streams, one of which has been deodorized with activated carbon. The dilution ratio is decreased until the odor becomes detectable (325). Improvements to dynamic methods have been recommended (326). 

The California bus program was mn at Golden Gate Transit District (GGTD) and continued through late 1990 (49). M.A.N. suppHed two European SU 240 coaches for this project, one diesel powered and one methanol powered. DDC provided a GM RTS coach powered by methanol.

Fluorspar occurs in two distinct types of formation in the fluorspar district of southern Illinois and Kentucky in vertical fissure veins and in horizontal bedded replacement deposits. A 61-m bed of sandstone and shale serves as a cap rock for ascending fluorine-containing solutions and gases. Mineralizing solutions come up the faults and form vein ore bodies where the larger faults are plugged by shale. Bedded deposits occur under the thick sandstone and shale roofs. Other elements of value associated with fluorspar ore bodies are zinc, lead, cadmium, silver, germanium, iron, and thorium. Ore has been mined as deep as 300 m in this district.

Other Deposits. Those deposits which cannot be classified as one of the previous 14 deposit types are called other. These include the uranium deposits in the Jurassic Todilto Limestone in the Grants district in New Mexico (17).

The FDA is headed by the Commissioner of Food and Dmgs. This position is not a Cabiaet-level office but falls within the PubHc Health Service (PHS), a division within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The post of FDA Commissioner is subject to HHS pohtical clearance and Senate confirmation, and the Commissioner is ultimately accountable to HHS, Congress, and the President of the United States. The Commissioner has a staff to assist ia poHcy making and several deputy commissioners to oversee operation of ah. the subordinate units. FDA has six regional offices within the country, each responsible for a section of the country, and 21 district offices. The most important body of primary silver ore in the United States in the 1990s is located in Silver Valley, the Coeur d Alene Mining District of Shoshone County, Idaho, which produces >200 t/yr of silver. The main ore mineral is tetrahedrite [12054-35-2] associated with sulfides of lead, copper, iron, and 2inc. 

Canada s most productive district is in the Canadian shield at Cobalt, Ontario. Nearly 97% of the silver values in this pre-Cambrian age ore were found as great slabs of nearly pure silver. One slab was 474 kg. The huge open-pit Kidd Creek Mine has had an aimual output of over 80 t of silver. 

U.S. silver production from 1985 to 1994 averaged 1588 t/yr. Less than one quarter of this output comes from silver mine districts, however. About half is as by-product of gold mines about one quarter comes from copper and lead—2inc mines. The silver production in Mexico from 1985 to 1994 averaged 2256 t/yr, and Pern, at the southern extremity of the cordillera, where silver is a by-product of copper and lead—2inc mines, averaged 1810 t/yr.
