Metallizing coatings

Oxygen-Evolving Anode. Research efforts to iacorporate the coated metal anode for oxygen-evolving appHcations such as specialty electrochemical synthesis, electro winning, impressed current, electrodialysis, and metal recovery found only limited appHcations for many years. [Pg.120]

Dimethylethanolamine, diethylethanolaniine, and thek derivatives are used in pesticides, corrosion inhibitors, dmgs and pharmaceuticals, emulsification, paints and coatings, metal fabrication and finishing, petroleum and petroleum products, and plastics and resins (226). [Pg.11]

Uralkyds have superior adhesion, hardness, abrasion resistance, durabiHty, and chemical resistance to the unmodified alkyds. They find appHcations in wood floor finishes, marine coatings, metal primers, and maintenance paints. [Pg.42]

Applications. The capabiHties of a gc/k/ms in separating and identifying components in complex mixtures is very high for a broad spectmm of analytical problems. One area where k information particularly complements ms data is in the differentiation of isomeric compounds. An example is in the analysis of tricresyl phosphates (TCPs) used as additives in a variety of products because of thek lubricating and antiwear characteristics (see Lubrication and lubricants). One important use of TCPs is in hydrauHc fluid where they tenaciously coat metal surfaces thereby reducing friction and wear. Tricresyl phosphate [1330-78-5] (7.2 21 exists in a variety of isomeric forms and the commercial product is a complex mixture of these isomers. [Pg.402]

Molten tin wets and adheres readily to clean iron, steel, copper, and copper-base alloys, and the coating is bright. It provides protection against oxidation of the coated metal and aids in subsequent fabrication because it is ductile and solderable. Tin coatings can be appHed to most metals by electro deposition (see Electroplating). [Pg.57]

Nonferrous Metals-, Electrodeposition Coatings-, Metal Powders-, Surgical Implants, Part 7, 1972 Annual Book ofASTM Standards, American Society for Testing Materials, Philadelphia, Pa., 1972. [Pg.63]

Modem electroless plating began in 1944 with the rediscovery that hypophosphite could bring about nickel deposition (7,8). Subsequent work led to the first patents on commercially usable electroless nickel solutions. Although these solutions were very useful for coating metals, they could not be used on most plastics because the operating temperature was 90—100°C. The first electroless nickel solution capable of wide use on plastics was introduced in 1966 (9). This solution was usable at room temperature and was extremely stable (see Nickel and nickel alloys). [Pg.106]
