Sustainability is important in the context of industry sectors, products, process technologies, and individual process plants. In assessing performance achievement in sustainability, there is a need for suitable sustainability indicators to measure progress in environmental, economic, and social performance. 

Measure and monitor are the two central elements of accounting. The cited G3 Guidelines organize the sustainability performance indicators in economic, environmental and social categories. Social indicators are further categorized by labor, human rights, society, and product responsibility. Core indicators have been also identified, and are intended to identify generally applicable indicators. 

In general, the quality of social/ethical reporting falls below that of environmental reporting. In addition, the lack of standards creates difficulties with comparability. With limited agreement over the nature of social indicators or how to measure social performance there is a pressing case for greater convergence of the standard setters in this area. 

There are now a number of organisations involving NGOs, governments, trade associations and multilateral bodies working to develop both performance indicators and reporting standards for social reporting. The activities of some of these, mostly located in the UK, will now be briefly reviewed. 

A third barrier related to mismatches between claims and actual efforts by RTIO contractors to employ Aboriginal contractors. Two responses were proposed to remove this conflict. The prospective studies and their results are the best evidence to date for low-level lead effects on IQ, attention deficits, and indicators for later educational and social performance. These studies show a more robust lead—IQ relationship than is apparent from cross-sectional data, and the robustness is linked to the segment of the dose/exposure curve, as is apparent in the internationally pooled analysis by Lanphear et al. (2005). Equally important, these studies show lead effects persisting to older ages in children and there may well be irreversible effects.

Sex differences can interact with the hormonal state where social conditions vary. Female cats (intact) display F. to urine marks only in the absence of males testosterone propionate induced F. in spayed females towards estrous females (Verbeme, 1976 Hart and Leedy, 1987), whereas an ovarian hormone (estradiol) failed to elicit F. to males (intact, and sexually inactive), presumably indicative of social inhibition overriding steroid facilitation. 

Weissman and Paykel (1974) revised a previously developed questionnaire to assess the performance of individuals in different roles, called the social adjustment scale (SAS-R). These roles included (1) work, (2) housework, (3) parental role, (4) social leisure activities, (5) extended family relationships, (6) marital relationship, and (7) family unit. Functioning in the last four roles is an important indicator of interpersonal functioning. Having deep relationships outside the immediate family helps an individual to draw more social support. Furthermore, the success of relationships outside the family indicates that the person possesses competent social skills and is able to form and maintain meaningful relationships with others. Marital and familial relationships were the resources most easily accessible to the individuals. However, broken marital and familial relationships might generate stress and lead to the development of depression (Weissman, 1997). 

Several authors have investigated the role of juvenile hormone (JH) in hydrocarbon signatures. Sledge et al.
