The next step in increasing oyster culture intensity might involve hatchery production and settling of spat on cultch. Once again, the cultch would be later distributed over a bed leased or owned by the oyster culturist (Eig. 1). Control of predators such as starfish and oyster drills could easily be a part of culture at all levels.

Database Producers. Producers of databases, also known as database pubHshers or information providers, determine the content of the databases, produce them, and typically lease or Hcense them to private organi2ations or database vendors. Database producers may be categori2ed as government, not-for-profit, commercial/industrial, and mixed.

Railroads generally do not supply tank cars and other special-purpose rail cars such as covered hopper cars for the movement of bulk plastic materials. Rather, shippers or receivers must furnish such equipment, usually through a purchase or lease arrangement with car manufacturers or lessors. 

Car manufacturers and intermediaries offer various forms of rail-car leases, ranging from short-term, full-maintenance rentals to long-term leases requiring outside financing (3). Many chemical shippers have substantial investments or lease commitments in tank cars and similar rail equipment, including cars constmcted of or lined with special materials for particular products. Other cars may be thermally insulated to prevent excessive heat buildup in transit or for protection against fire.

Cost. The catalytically active component(s) in many supported catalysts are expensive metals. By using a catalyst in which the active component is but a very small fraction of the weight of the total catalyst, lower costs can be achieved. As an example, hydrogenation of an aromatic nucleus requires the use of rhenium, rhodium, or mthenium. This can be accomplished with as fittie as 0.5 wt % of the metal finely dispersed on alumina or activated carbon. Furthermore, it is almost always easier to recover the metal from a spent supported catalyst bed than to attempt to separate a finely divided metal from a liquid product stream. If recovery is efficient, the actual cost of the catalyst is the time value of the cost of the metal less processing expenses, assuming a nondeclining market value for the metal. Precious metals used in catalytic processes are often leased. 

The principal U.S. manufacturers and/or water service companies that sold or leased chlorine dioxide generating equipment and services in 1991 were Aquatec, Capital Controls, Chemquip, Drew Chemical (Division of Ashland Chemical), Eischer Porter, Prominent Eluid Controls, Rio Linda, and Wallace Tiernan. 

Producers. The producers of databases are sometimes called database publishers because they make pubHc their databases. Some producers pubhsh hardcopy counterparts to databases and so are pubHshers in the traditional sense others pubHsh data only in electronic form. Database producers are responsible both for the deterrnination of content and for database production. Most producers offer their databases for lease or Hcense to private organisations or database vendors. Vendors offer database search services to the marketplace on a fee basis. An increasing number of producer/vendors such as Mead Data Central, U.S. National Library of Medicine, and DRI/McGraw-HiU. (formerly Data Resources), offer search services (batch or online) from their own databases as well as from the databases of other products. 

Lease cost is based on a period equal to the useful life.

Land Lease Costs. If there are annual payments for land use, this item of expense is often kept separate from other operating costs, since it does not inflate at the same rate as other costs. If the land is purchased, it cannot be depreciated for tax purposes. 

Current tax laws allow deductions from revenues for sales expenses, operating costs, amortizations, lease costs, interest payments, depreciation, and depletion. 

Tax and economic conditions can make leasing a feasible method of financing hydrocarbon processing facilities. The operating company leases the plant from an investor. 

The analysis on whether to buy or lease should be done very carefully. The assumption of risk, impact on the balance sheet, tax consequences, etc., must be studied. 

Davis (Reference 2) lists some of the reasons for leasing, as well as some of the pitfalls. 

Reciprocating compressors are available with a large variety of other drivers, which include the piston engine, steam turbine, or, in rare cases, a gas turbine. Next in popularity to the electric motor is the piston engine. The arrangement lends itself to skid mounting, particularly with the semi-portable units found in the oilfield. The unit is also popular as a lease unit, which may be lifted onto a flat bed trailer and moved from one location to another as needed. The engine is either direct-coupled or. as with smaller compressors, it may be belt-connected. 

Educate staff, occupants, and contractors about their responsibilities in relation to indoor air quality staff training, lease arrangements, eontraets. 

Consider some alternatives. We should eonsider using eontrol aeeess zones (CAZ) to limit worker exposure to zones where slip, trip, and fall hazards exist. By limiting worker exposure we should be limiting aeei-dent oeeurrenees. If equipment is a temporary problem, we should eonsider leasing or rental. If labor is a problem, we might eonsider utilization of temporary employment ageneies.

In the rented category there are hotels, inns, guest houses, apartments, etc. It would be inappropriate to compare hotels with guest houses or apartments with inns. They are each in a different class. Hotels are a class of accommodation within which are grades such as 5 star, 4 star, 3 star, etc., indicating the facilities offered. 

The vessel was leased from a supplier of carbon dioxide, and the user company did not check that it conformed to the company s usual standards. 

Leased equipment must meet the same standards as all other equipment.
