Skid mount

Reciprocating compressors are available with a large variety of other drivers, which include the piston engine, steam turbine, or, in rare cases, a gas turbine. Next in popularity to the electric motor is the piston engine. The arrangement lends itself to skid mounting, particularly with the semi-portable units found in the oilfield. The unit is also popular as a lease unit, which may be lifted onto a flat bed trailer and moved from one location to another as needed. The engine is either direct-coupled or. as with smaller compressors, it may be belt-connected. [Pg.53]

There are some low horsepower (140 to 360) integrals that are nonnaf ly skid mounted as shown in Figure 10-6 and used extensively in small oil fields for flash gas or gas-lift compressor service. In these units the power cylinders and compressor cylinders are both mounted horizontally... [Pg.262]

Most manufacturers supply packaged boilers as skid-mounted units to aid shipping and site positioning. Many designs incorporate a factory-installed, insulated steel jacket, while others are housed in an insulated sheet metal cabinet (only on older FT designs was the shell not insulated). [Pg.35]

The basic reason for this migration trend is that RO systems are now available from a host of OEM manufacturers in a wide variety of relatively low-cost, skid-mounted, modular forms, and are excellent at bulkwater TDS removal. [Pg.361]

An industrial grade, skid-mounted unit (see Fig. 11.2) has been operating successfully at Occidental Chemical s Delaware City mercury cell plant since September 1997. Operating results have met both the expectations of the client and Kvaerner. This chapter discusses the operating experience at OxyChem and the resulting optimised commercial product, the Kvaerner Chemetics Sulphate Removal System or SRS . The acceptance in the market-place has been excellent four systems have been ordered and three are in the process of manufacture, with operations commencing later in 2000. Approximately 50 firm price proposals have been issued in the past two years. Several of these evaluations are in the final stages and will lead to the sale of units in the near future. [Pg.154]

The resin bed is typically 30 cm (12 in.) in height. Scale-up is accomplished by increasing the bed diameter. The systems can be assembled into compact, skid-mounted units, which can be fully tested prior to shipment. This minimises installation and start-up costs. Typical units range from small off-the-shelf units with 15 cm (6 in.) diameter beds, which process 20-2001 h-1 of feed solution (depending on the application), to large custom units equipped with beds up to 274 cm (108 in.) in diameter (see Fig 24.2), which process more than 300 times as much. For still larger applications, multiple units are installed in parallel. [Pg.311]

Hand, wheeled, and skid-mounted extinguishers located outdoors should be protected from the weather by mounting them in protective cabinets or protected with covers of heavy red vinyl (preferably iridescent) or another suitable material. [Pg.227]

Minnesota, as well as at a large-scale [30 gal/min (57 liters/min)] system. Capital equipment is either a one-time or monthly charge, depending on whether a leased, mobile unit or an amortized, skid-mounted unit is used (see Table 1). The cost of site-specific pre- or posttreatment such as oil/water separators, filters, etc. must also be considered (D12769P, pp. 231-232). [Pg.416]

The vendor cites the following advantages of the GAC-FBR system a large surface area for biomass attachment high biomass concentrations and the ability to control and optimize biofilm thickness minimal plugging or channeling no off-gas production low hydraulic retention times biomass carrier can be tailored to optimize system performance and skid-mounted units with small footprints are available for most applications. [Pg.526]

Capital cost for the liquid-phase system is estimated based on using two pressure vessels on a prepiped, prewired skid, no installation included. Capital cost for the vapor-phase system is based on using two to four skid-mounted reusable carbon vessels with hose connections, initial fill of carbon, sizes of 400 lb, 2000 lb, and 10,000 lb as required for a rated flow rate at a 5-inch water pressure drop or less. [Pg.636]

According to the vendor, the SoilPurge soil vapor extraction systems are constructed for one-person installation, are skid mounted, have a total height of less than 4 ft, and are available in footprints starting at 36 inches by 30 inches. [Pg.814]

The SAREX process is a trailer/skid-mounted, modular system designed for on-site, in-line separation and resource recovery of oily waste sludges and contaminated soils. This process provides dewatering and thermal desorption to maximize the recovery of oil while obtaining substantial reduction in volume and contaminant concentrations. The SAREX process includes the MX-1500 centrifuge, the MX-2000 low-temperature thermal dryer, and the MX-2500 medium-temperature thermal desorber. The MX-1500 centrifuge is used to separate the solids from the... [Pg.962]

System is modular, skid-mounted, and easy to install. [Pg.1141]

Despite the advanced technology of the AQUATECH System, its installation is not complex. In fact, it is simpler and less costly than conventional electrolysis processing. AQUATECH Systems need only two electrodes for an entire 100-150 cell unit stack, avoiding complicated busbar arrangements. Furthermore, scale-up and installation of the unit are facilitated by the modular skid mounted cell stack design. [Pg.286]

As a CWA (Chemical Warfare Agent), CS can be dispersed in burning bursting grenades, by hand-held dispersers (modified flame thrower), helicopter-mounted dispersers, and skid mounted dispersers. Its chief use is for riot mob control however, military applications are indicated (Ref 5)... [Pg.353]

Therefore our first look recommendation would perhaps be for a dual (duty/standby) 36 x 72 in. GRP, skid-mounted softener, with 2 in. pipework and water-meter-initiated regeneration, containing 20 cu ft resin per tank. [Pg.67]

The advanced reformer unit combines naturally with a Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) system to permit supply of complete hydrogen facilities totally skid mounted and factory assembled with up to 6 million scf/day capacity in a single reformer train. [Pg.176]
