Tenderness, defined

Basil (Sweet Basil). Basil consists of the brown, dried leaves and tender stems of Ocimum basilicum L. (Labiatae), an aimual native to India, Africa, and Asia, and cultivated in Egypt, southern Erance, Morocco, the Mediteranean countries, and the United States. Basil is one of the oldest known herbs, and it is reported that there are perhaps 50—60 poorly defined Ocimum species which can only be identified according to their chemical components. The flavor of the basihcum type is warm, sweet, somewhat pungent, and pecuhar, ie, methyl chavicol and linalool. It is used with meats, fish, certain cheeses, and tomato-based salads. The fresh leaves are ground and known as pesto with pastas. It is the main component of the Hqueur Chartreuse. 

Do the reviews ensure that the customer requirements are adequately defined and that the company has the capability to meet them prior to submitting a tender or the acceptance of a contract ... 

The standard requires that before submission of a tender, or acceptance of a contract or order (statement of requirement), the tender, contract, and order are reviewed to ensure that the requirements are adequately defined and documented. 

The supplier then confirms with the customer that the correct lamp has been located. (The supplier is ensuring that the requirements are adequately defined. There is no document unless the customer makes the transaction by mail and there is no tender because the customer did not request one. These requirements of clause 4.3.2.1 are therefore not applicable.)... 

You need to develop documented procedures that define your subcontractor evaluation and selection process and in certain cases this may result in several closely-related procedures for use when certain conditions apply. Do not try to force every purchase through the same selection process. Having purchasing policies that require three quotations for every purchase regardless of past performance of the current subcontractor is placing price before quality. Provide flexibility so that the policies and procedures complexity match the risks anticipated. Going out to tender for a few standard nuts and bolts would seem unwise. Likewise, placing an order for lm of equipment based solely on the results of a third party ISO 9000 certification would also seem unwise. 

In the tendering phase each of the potential subcontractors are in competition, so observe the basic rule that what you give one must be given to all. It is at this stage that your subcontractor conducts the tender review defined in clause 4.3.1 of ISO 9001. 

Cellulitis is characterized by erythema and edema of the skin. The lesion, which may be extensive, is painful and nonelevated and has poorly defined margins. Tender lymphadenopathy associated with lymphatic involvement is common. Malaise, fever, and chills are also commonly present. There is usually a history of an antecedent wound from minor trauma, an ulcer, or surgery.

The safety and efficacy of Remicade when given in conjunction with methotrexate (MTX) were assessed in a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 428 patients with active rheumatoid arthritis despite treatment with MTX. All patients were to have received MTX for >6 months and be on a stable dose >12.5mg/week for 4 weeks prior to study. All Remicade and placebo groups continued their stable dose of MTX and folic acid. In addition to MTX, patients received placebo or Remicade by intravenous infusion at weeks 0, 2, and 6 followed by additional infusions every 4 or 8 weeks thereafter. The primary end point was the proportion of patients at week 30 who attained an improvement in signs and symptoms as measured by the American College of Rheumatology criteria (ACR 20). An ACR 20 response is defined as at least a 20% improvement in both tender and swollen joint counts and in 3 of 5 clinical criteria. At week 30, 43/86 (50%) of patients treated every 8 weeks with 3 mg/kg of Remicade plus MTX attained an ACR 20 compared with 18/88 (20%) of patients treated with placebo plus MTX ip < 0.001). 

The product requirements are reviewed before the contract or tender is accepted. Product requirements are defined and communicated to the personnel responsible for the quality production. The unresolved and ambiguous issues are resolved and documented. The changes made in the product specifications are approved before execution of the order. Provisions are made for removing absolute drawings, procedures, work instructions, and specifications from all work areas to ensure that they are correctly authorized versions. Provisions are made for emergency changes necessary to prevent the production of nonconforming material. 

The tender package documentation needs to provide all the elements necessary to define the project, and typically includes the project validation plan, a detailed scope of work, the URS, the documentation deliverables, and the associated commercial documentation.

The isoelectric point of a protein is defined as that pH at which the net charge is zero (Wismer-Pedersen, 1971). Since protein-protein ionic interactions are promoted at this point, it would be expected that the protein matrix would shrink and WHC would be at a minimum (Kapsalis, 1975). It follows that increasing the pH away from isoelectric point would also result in a higher WHC, since protein-water interactions are favored (Hamm, 1960). Bouton et al. Some cuts of meat are more tender than others. Meat is mostly protein, indeed a rather complex set of proteins with defined structure(s). The major meat proteins responsible for tenderness are the myofibrillar proteins and the connective tissue proteins. Protease enzymes are used to modify these proteins. In fact, proteases like papain and bromelain have been used to tenderize tougher cuts of meat for many years. This can be a difficult process to control since there is a fine line between tender and mushy meat. The purpose of the detailed survey is to ensure a cost-effective repair in line with the client s requirements. This is done by accurately defining and measuring the cause, extent and severity of deterioration. In Chapter 7, we will discuss how test measurements may be used to model the deterioration rate, time to corrosion and life cycle costing. The specification of a surface finish for stainless steel equipment is a source of many potential problems and misunderstandings between purchasers and manufacturers. The implications for costs and like-for-hke comparisons between tenders, and the need to establish that the equipment condition satisfies all functional requirements of the application, dictate that the surface finish specified should be appropriately defined in all contractual documents. Approval of the project proposal will normally allow the formation of a project team and allow the project to proceed to defining the requirements of the system, inviting tenders, and evaluating alternative systems.
