The prioritization of the improvement actions is the final results of the SCOR-projects which is not aiming at a detailed project description including cost effectiveness studies and project plans but at short cut evaluations and project proposals. [Pg.16]

The OECD Task Force on Environmental Exposure Assessment is developing OECD-wide ESDs, in order to make it possible to reflect conditions on production, use, etc. that are different between countries, and to avoid duplicative efforts by Member countries and industry in gathering exposure information. The hrst process for developing OECD-wide ESDs is a submission of a project proposal from member countries. The proposal specifies the industry categories and/or use categories that the documents will cover. Once approved by the Task Force, the lead country drafts the document, and the draft will then be circulated to the member countries for their comments. Taking the comments into account, the drafts are amended and published by the OECD. [Pg.318]

Currently, there are two F-T plants operating on offshore methane. The first one is the Shell Bintuli plant in Malaysia, which produces 15000 barrels per day. The second one is the Moss Bay plant (PetroSA) located in South Africa. Recently, Sasol/Chevron, ExxonMobil and Shell announced major investments in F T GTL plants. In addition, there are many small (mainly for local markets) and large (mainly for export) project proposals for F-T GTL projects on the table. Most of the large project proposals are in the Middle East... [Pg.17]

Finally, it is important that biomonitoring projects document (in widely available reports or in the communications database discussed in Chapter 6) the ethical challenges and solutions (and evaluations of those solutions) that they face. Biomonitoring sponsors could aid in this task by requiring that project proposals address how they will document the issues. The data can... [Pg.128]

Research projects require careful management by the instructor. Over the years, a few strategies have been developed to more efficiently manage time and resources. First, starting the projects as early as possible and carefully refining project proposals is essential. Project outlines should be completed within the first 2 weeks, if not earlier. In... [Pg.41]

Establish expedited dispute resolution processes for distributed generation project proposals. [Pg.206]

In this chapter, a basis is provided for a project proposal on thermal dehydrogenation of H2S in a membrane reactor. Such a proposal uses the results of this thesis as a starting point. [Pg.115]

A set-up for a project proposal based on the results attained was already presented in chapter 8 of this thesis, here some other developments and recommendations will be discussed. [Pg.131]

The implementation plan prepared by the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism proposed that an interim expert group will be appointed by the Minister of the National Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism to assess project proposals and bioprospecting applications and review requests for access. It is too early to make any comment on whether the review process is working because the procedures are not yet fully operational. There is no indication in the regulations as to how long the assessment of the application may take, especially as the applicant may be required to conduct a risk assessment. [Pg.113]

Finally, one must not accept the argument that too much money and effort already went into the project and that it needs only some further investment to rescue it. Decisions must be based on the future perspective of the project. The past, including all money spent, does not count. The project should be evaluated in exactly the same way as a new project proposal and using the same kind of information. If in the new scenario, chances and risks, cost and time to develop the product do not justify the continuation of the project, it should be stopped based upon objective and rational arguments, but not because someone failed. [Pg.47]

Looking back, this theoretical chemistry program turned out to be one of the most successful priority programs of the DFG. It was adopted immediately and welcome to all researchers in the field. In the first year, there were 29 project proposals, 13 of which were applications to participate in summer schools. The total budget in this first year was 350,000 DM, that is, 0.64%... [Pg.272]

The commonly used procedure - the country-to-country approach requires each country to seek funds, develop project proposals and deal with different national donor organisations, contractors or other relevant agencies individually - had limited success. A re-... [Pg.51]

In addition, two other major efforts have been announced to develop coal gasification facilities in northwestern New Mexico. These proposed plants would be based on an extension of the Lurgi technology which has been used in Europe for many years. The first is a project proposed by El Paso Natural Gas Co., and the second is a proposal by a consortium composed of Pacific Lighting Service Co., Texas Eastern Transmission Corp., and Utah International, Inc. Each of these projects calls for the construction of one or more gasification plants, each capable of producing about 250 million cubic feet per day, and would utilize some of the extensive coal reserves of the area. [Pg.13]
