Relevant Facts

To proceed with a design, the designer must first assemble all the relevant facts and data required. For process design this will include information on possible processes, equipment performance, and physical property data. This stage can be one of the most time consuming, and frustrating, aspects of design. Sources of process information and physical properties are reviewed in Chapter 8. 

To liaise with relevant international organisations for the purpose of communicating about reports on investigations of the alleged use of chemical weapons (IAUs) to coordinate the provision of assistance and to obtain and exchange relevant information and data and to conduct an IAU to establish the relevant facts related to the request for assistance12. 

The number of relevant facts accumulated in an accident investigation is usually limited. Further investigation usually cannot uncover additional facts. A deeper analysis of the facts, however, often leads to new conclusions and recommendations. This deeper analysis is, for example, similar to a brainstorming session to develop new applications for a common house brick. New and interesting applications will continue to surface. 

Where do relevant facts and figures come from If you are consulting print material, there should be footnotes and a bibliography that show the author s sources. On the Internet, you may also find such documentation, or sources may be documented by using links to other websites (see the following section on evaluating a website based on links). Even documentaries, to use a previous example, should cite sources in their credits.

Evaluate negative information with caution Even if you receive negative information during a reference check, do nof immediately rule out the candidate.
