Patent Number Index

A patent number index with information about the patent applicants, inventors, priorities and patent-families, an inventor index, a company index, and a subject index can be found at the end of the book. [Pg.447]

It is not unusual that a patent application has been filed in several countries referring to a common first filing i.e. priority. These applications are said to belong to the same patent-family. In this book English-speaking documents of the patent-families have been selected provided it has been possible. The patent numbers or patent application numbers of other documents belonging to the same patent-family as a cited document may be found in the patent number index at the end of the book. [Pg.448]

From around 1850, cover applied and pure chemistry. Excellent abstracts of patents and literature, some not found in Chemisches Zentralblatt subject index fairly adequate. Wagner has a rather complete German patent number index in the chemical field. [Pg.239]

The abstracts of the Journal of the Textile Institute 28 are very convenient, once the user has become accustomed to the slight differences in terminology—for example, an important index heading is Manufactured Fibers." These abstracts have annual subject, name, and patent number indexes. [Pg.192]

A patent number index is found in each individual issue, and has been issued as an annual cumulation since 1935. A collective volume was published by the American Chemical Society for 1937-1946, and by the Special Libraries Association for 1907-1936. The arrangement is alphabetical by country under which are given the patent numbers and the abstract references. Since 1963 the patent index has consisted of two parts, of which one is similar to the old numerical patent index and the other shows the correspondence between new patents and those from other countries which have already been issued. [Pg.79]

The bibliography is sorted alphabetically by the first author. It is in this way an author index of the first author. Patents without authors are placed according to the patent numbers in the text. [Pg.509]

Drugs Under Patent. This book [77] is a cross-referenced listing of over 2500 drugs covered in the United States under patent law and marketing exclusivity provisions of the Waxman-Hatch Act. Eight indexes provide market and patent status information by company, trade name, generic name, expiration date, dosage form, exclusivity code, patent number, and NDA number. Updated annually, this book is available commercially. [Pg.775]

CASSIS USPTO USPTO Office of Electronic Data Conversion and Dissemination CASSIS, the Classification and Search Support Information System of the USPTO, comprises three subfiles CASSIS/BIB, bibliographic information for utility patents from 1969 and for others from 1977 CASSIS/CLASS, USPTO classification by patent number of class/subclass CASSIS/ASSIST, index to U.S. Manual of Classification U.S. Manual of Classification, Class Definitions IPC, U.S. Classification Concordance Manual of Patent Examining Procedure Attorneys/Agents Roster, etc... [Pg.126]

The Patent Index is an alphabetical listing of national and international patent offices using a standardised two-letter code for the country of issue (AD, Andorra, to ZW, Zimbabwe). Within the listing for each country (or group of countries), patents are arranged in ascending patent number order. [Pg.6]

Each patent number is followed by either a CA abstract number and a complete history of all equivalent documents, or a cross-reference to the patent number of the first abstracted patent in the patent family. This feature of the index, detailing a patent family, is the CA Patent Concordance. [Pg.6]

This book is based predominantly on the patent literature and provides how to data regarding the production, purification, and application of commercial enzymes. Coverage is not limited to food applications, and 70 subjects are grouped as Enzymes, Enzymatic Processing, Enzyme Stabilization, Polymer-Enzyme Products, Cell Culture, Protein Analysis, Nucleic Acids etc.. Amino Acids, Peptide Synthesis, and Applications. Indexing includes U.S. patent number, company and patent assignee, inventor, and subject. [Pg.29]

These books contain selected abstract reprints from the U.S. Patent Gazette. They are organized into about 20 food categories and indexes are provided to assignee, inventor, and U.S. patent number. Those dealing with enzymes are not specifically identified nor is there a subject index. [Pg.29]

A useful list of subclass numbers can likewise be compiled, with the use of the classification card index, by means of a list of pertinent patent numbers found in Chemical Abstracts, books, or review articles. [Pg.205]

Generally, it will save time to locate subclasses through patent numbers obtained from Chemical Abstracts, rather than via the index to the manual and the class definitions. This is in part due to the complexity of many of the definitions, which tend to be more confusing than clarifying until one has become thoroughly familiar with the method and style of presentation. [Pg.206]

The thorough annual indexes (Verzeichnis) contain a number of sections enabling the searcher to obtain complete data fairly readily starting from a knowledge of only the patent number, or the patent application number, or the applicant s name, or the classification. The Manual of Foreign Patents (263) contains an especially clear presentation concerning the German patent publications. [Pg.216]
