The oxygen used in the combustion is supplied by a small cylinder (120 Atm.) fitted with a pressure reduction valve, pressure gauge (to avoid the risk of the cylinder becoming exhausted during an actual determination) and fine control knob. It is important that the valve is kept free from oil or grease of any kind. In order to ensure the complete purity of the oxygen it is first passed through a purification train. [Pg.467]

Some empirical equations to predict cyclone pressure drop have been proposed (165,166). One (166) rehably predicts pressure drop under clean air flow for a cyclone having the API model dimensions. Somewhat surprisingly, pressure drop decreases with increasing dust loading. One reasonable explanation for this phenomenon is that dust particles approaching the cyclone wall break up the boundary layer film (much like spoiler knobs on an airplane wing) and reduce drag forces. [Pg.397]

The important features of rigidity and transparency make the material competitive with polystyrene, cellulose acetate and poly(methyl methacrylate) for a number of applications. In general the copolymer is cheaper than poly(methyl methacrylate) and cellulose acetate, tougher than poly(methyl methacrylate) and polystyrene and superior in chemical and most physical properties to polystyrene and cellulose acetate. It does not have such a high transparency or such food weathering properties as poly(methyl methacrylate).
