Data and analysis

The Federal Food, Dmg and Cosmetic (FDAC) Act defines dmgs as "...articles intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease in man..." and "articles (other than food) intended to affect the stmcture of any function of the body of man." In the United States and elsewhere, the introduction of a new dmg is subject to a sequence of weU-defined stages of development and approval (4). Each stage involves either scientific testing or submission and preparation of data and analysis review (Fig. 2). 

Risk characterization is defined as the integration of the data and analysis of the above three components to determine the likelihood that humans wiU. experience any of the various forms of toxicity associated with a substance. When the exposure data are not available, hypothetical risk is characterized by the integration of hazard identification and dose—response evaluation data. 

More recent data is often preferred to older data, since end effects are better understood, the new correlation often builds on earlier data and analysis, and better measurement techniques are often available.

For purposes of this paper, the term "Data System" will refer to computer software designed to acquire data from an instrument or laboratory process, to manage and access that data, to analyze the data as required, and to plot and report the data and analysis results.

Prepare a summary of the data and analysis used to correlate the stratified sampling locations with significant events in the blending process. 

Now we come to what is frequently the most crucial part of the entire study—communication of the findings. And this includes not only the presentation of data and analysis, but also conclusions, and most important, recommendations. At this point in his study, the market research analyst should be the best informed person in the company on the subject under investigation. As such, management wants, needs, and is entitled to his recommendations for further action. Without them, the report may be of purely academic interest.

Experimental data and analysis of the shear-dependent viscosity for dilute solutions of polyethelene oxide in water can be found in work by Kalashnikov (1994). These data show that the deviations in reduced viscosity (9.12) at constant shear rate from initial (at z/12 — 0) values are the more, the more is the molecular weight of the polymer. This work is part of an on-going program. Analysis of the effects of sulfur on radical decay, further examination of the stoichiometric H2/02/N2 data, and analysis of sulfur chemistry in rich C2H2/02/N2 flames are underway. The laboratory program is continuing with fluorescence measurements of NO, NO2, NH, NH2 and CN in an effort to develop a unified kinetic model for fuel nitrogen chemistry in flames.

Figure 6 is a plot of particulate sulfur deposition versus the gaseous component. It is often claimed that the deposition of sulfur as submicron particles is small in comparison to the deposition as gaseous sulfur dioxide. Inspection of the diagram reveals that the present data and analysis are in support of this common contention.
