Chemical Abstracts. These were commenced by the American Chemical Society in 1907. The abstracts are very comprehensive (particularly in recent years) from the standpoint of subject matter and journals covered. Four decennial indexes have appeared—1917, 1927, 1937 and 1947—and these are widely used for locating information pub lished during the period 1907-1947. The annual indexes cover the period 1948 to date. [Pg.1128]

Chemical inventory system for Tier I/II information. Includes capacity to inventory quantity and location information. Contains database of 3100 hazardous chemicals. [Pg.287]

For teams that are highly centralized (i.e., a majority of members in a single location), information transfer is a relatively simple matter. Some common means of transferring information among a centralized group include ... [Pg.71]

For a more widely dispersed team, whose members may work in remote locations, information transfer may require more effort however, most of the same techniques apply. For example ... [Pg.71]

Station ALOHA (see Figure 23.4 for location information). Three-point running mean observations of N/P molar ratios in (a) total dissolved inorganic plus organic pool, (b) total suspended particulate matter in the upper 0-100 m, (c) in exported particulate matter at 150 m depth, and (d) cycling in nutrient limitation (described in text). Even if a rogue material is detected but is unidentifiable by its NIR spectrum alone, the location information derived from the imaging experiment can greatly assist in the rapid analysis of the snspect region by other analytical methods. [Pg.262]

Currently, MAECIS is at the center of our technical information database and contains over 19,000 unique chemical structures. It is used daily by our research staff to locate information on specific products or chemicals. The database structure in MAECIS serves as a bridge between the analytical and organic chemist doing research on specific molecules and those concerned with new products which are usually mixtures of chemicals. [Pg.17]

The software sends location information to the laser/mirror system, which then directs light energy to specific regions of a thin layer of photoreactive chemical (UV curable formulation) present on a movable platform in the reservoir. Simultaneously, the information package directs the system to lower the platform slowly with the cured slice of the object into the reservoir. ... [Pg.164]

The hierarchical paper data file is organized in the same way the planned field residue trial example was developed. The protocol and final report are followed by test chemical information, test location information, application and harvest information, shipping and storage data, and analysis data. The analysis data is grouped by bench sheet to assist manual searches. [Pg.64]

In applications, increased capability in PEPT will enable more work with liquids and with multi-phase systems, and product-oriented studies aimed at probing the formation of microstructure. At the other extreme lies large-scale pilot- or process-level study which must be carried out in situ, using the new mobile PEPT camera. In large-scale applications, it will not in general be possible to provide trajectory information for the entire process volume. The challenge here is to develop "minimal" PEPT, in which location information is provided at as coarse a level as possible, consistent with the objectives of the study. [Pg.176]

This is a complete copy of an application submission and is intended to serve as a reference source for FDA reviewers to locate information not contained in... [Pg.104]

In summary, the developmental data available on map purpose suggest that by preschool, many children understand that maps store location information and aid navigation. Although there is no evidence that children appreciate the idea that maps may serve other purposes, it is unclear whether this reflects something about their understanding, or instead reflects the relative paucity of research addressed to this question. [Pg.58]

CrossRef is an application of the DOI system that links online citations across publishers. The unique identification and persistent location information in the DOI is packaged into an open URL that publishers and libraries can use to link to subscribed full-text content from reference lists. These links appear with citations in the reference lists of online articles and databases from several participating publishers. [Pg.317]

Go to the Federal Emergency Management Agency Web site at http //www.fema. gov/kids/. Click the icon for FEMA Kids. Locate information on age-appropriate and disaster-related information. [Pg.301]

This index is provided so that the reader might locate information about a particular complex of interest. It is organized as follows The first section contains the neutral binary complexes, followed by charged dimers, and then by larger complexes in the last section. Within each section, the complexes are ordered by the type of molecules contained. The order is as follows XH, YH2, ZH3, carbonyl, carboxyl, imine, amide, nitrile, alkyne, alkene, alkane, others. (X refers to any halogen F, Cl, Br, I Y to O, S, etc. and Z to N, P, etc.) Any alkylated or similar substitutions follow immediately after their parent group. [Pg.365]

This section contains a description of structure, strengths, and weaknesses of three of the most important paper-based tools for locating information in the primary literature Chemical Abstracts, Beilstein, and the Science Citation Index. It is followed by a complementary section on how to carry out some specific kinds of searches. [Pg.264]

The problem of the education and training of the literature chemist, then, might well be approached in terms of what such an individual needs to know how to do. Such an analysis discloses the need for the development of certain competencies that are essential to the work. Among other requirements would be the ability to understand and interpret the literature of chemistry and allied fields, to apply general library knowledge and techniques, to locate information, to analyze and synthesize reports of research (both foreign and domestic), and to write a report of findings. [Pg.22]

Figures 15, 16, 17 and 18 show examples of the paths of air masses estimated in the manner just described. The arrival times in El Monte are used to identify each trajectory in any subsequent references in this report. The date of Sept. 29, 1969, is chosen because of the variety of data that we have available for that day. The earlier morning meandering patterns give way to the dominant onshore flows for all trajectories 0900 to 1000 hours Pacific Standard Time (PST). The meteorological formulation that we have adopted takes the time and location information from these trajectories to establish the initial conditions and the boundary conditions. Initial conditions are specified as vertical profiles of concentration and boundary conditions as time histories of surface-based pollutant emissions. These trajectories are not used in the tests of the slab model they are used to test the moving air parcel model.
