The regions of analysis can be varied depending on the effect being measured. 

The duration of G2 can be measured from the endy of labelled cells into Gl (figure 2). This can be achieved ly extrapolating a line back to zero which has been fitted to time points after the first two hours (because this region may contain cells which are stUl in early S but are included due to the CV of the Gl population) up until the entry plateaus when all labelled cells are in Gl. 

The development of antibodies to the halogenated pyrimidines combined with the attributes of FCM have led to a revolution in the study of cell kinetics and a resurgence of interest in their clinical apphcation. The techniques are reproducible and relatively straightforward and can be tailored to individual experimental requirements.
