Areas for improvement

When a test run is performed using the actual materials for the toll, it is a prime opportunity for the toller and the client to document the capability of the equipment, instrumentation, and process steps. During such a test, frequency of sampling may be increased, additional analyses performed and yield capabilities checked to find the optimum setpoints and timing for the toll process. Health, safety and environmental staff may choose to provide close coverage of the test run to evaluate areas for improvement during the actual startup and long term operation. [Pg.103]

Collect and analyze customer feedback, particularly complaints to target areas for improvement. [Pg.106]

Table 1 showed that the growth in the primary (single-use) Zn - Mn02 battery market will be entirely in the alkaline field because in the less-developed countries there will be the strong trend toward alkaline batteries. Zn-Carbon batteries will certainly not disappear, but their poor quality in some regions is an area for improvements (Table 2). [Pg.65]

A. Hausberger Probably one of the biggest areas for improvement would be a catalyst that is stable in the higher temperature ranges, such as those required by the RMProcess of Parsons, because, if you can take higher temperatures, you can take a considerably larger temperature rise and hence less gas recycle. [Pg.170]

The regular internal auditing of a quality system is a fundamental requirement. These audits should be conducted by persoimel independent of the operational area being audited for example a quality department should not audit its own activities. The results of such audits, together with those from outside inspection bodies, will invariably identify areas for improvement. [Pg.25]

Though we and others (27-29) have demonstrated the utility and the improved sensitivity of the peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence method for analyte detection in RP-HPLC separations for appropriate substrates, a substantial area for Improvement and refinement of the technique remains. We have shown that the reactions of hydrogen peroxide and oxalate esters yield a very complex array of reactive intermediates, some of which activate the fluorophor to its fluorescent state. The mechanism for the ester reaction as well as the process for conversion of the chemical potential energy into electronic (excited state) energy remain to be detailed. Finally, the refinement of the technique for routine application of this sensitive method, including the optimization of the effi-ciencies for each of the contributing factors, is currently a major effort in the Center for Bioanalytical Research. [Pg.153]

The following sections therefore review both pictures and numerical approaches that can help to communicate how value can best be created by R D, despite uncertainty. Because of all the uncertainties involved in predicting the future, and predicting what might be learned from different kinds of research, all effective research performance models must explicitly incorporate assumptions about sources and levels of uncertainty. We believe that this is the single most important area for improvement in research simulations. [Pg.261]

The regulatory process should be routinely and systematically monitored in order to identify problems in the process and determine whether the activities actually carried out are consistent with the intended course of action. Several approaches may be employed for assessing the performance of dmg regulatory authorities self-review, supervisory body review and peer review. These approaches can complement one another in appraising the performance of the DRA, as well as assisting it to identify areas for improvement. [Pg.4]

The above approaches are not mutually exclusive they may complement one another in appraising performance, as well as helping to identify areas for improvement. [Pg.135]

An even more streamlined approach scores each stage of the life cycle for impact on a number of environmental indicators. Typical indicators include resource depletion, global warming potential, smog production, acidification, eutrophication, toxic waste production and biodiversity impact. Impact is estimated using a simple numerical scale. The completed matrix is used to focus attention on areas for improvement. [Pg.48]

The selection of vehicle is based on the type of lesion and location of the infection. Solutions are recommended for hairy areas and oozing lesions, while creams are better for moderately scaling and non-oozing lesions. For hyperkeratotic lesions, ointments can be considered. The selected formulation should be applied to the affected area after it is cleaned and dried. The medication should be rubbed into the infected area for improved penetration. Since most patients do not rub in sprays and powders, penetration of the epidermis is minimal, making them less effective than other formulations. Sprays and powders should be considered as adjuvant therapy with a cream or lotion or as prophylactic therapy to prevent recurrence. [Pg.1207]

Evaluation of each step of the existing route with respect to yield, productivity, efficiency, waste generation (PMI process (product) mass intensity) and solvent use was carried out and a number of potential areas for improvement were identified as summarized below ... [Pg.177]

The review and discussion cited in this paper on different aspects of homestead agroforestry production system revealed that it appeared a potential area for improving production and income of the rural households of Bangladesh. The paper clearly stated how homestead agroforestry production system meets the diversified... [Pg.459]

Whilst the pigment has a favourable toxicity profile and a long history of application in sensitive applications such as cosmetics and in food-contact applications, in order to meet the requirements of discerning customers practice sustainable procurement and look for products with a beneficial life cycle analysis. This paper, therefore, outlines the results of a study which shows how a commitment to sustainable manufacture is an essential addition to the favourable toxicity profile. Areas for improvement are recognised and options for renewable energy resources are discussed. [Pg.31]

Investigation of possible areas for improvement increases the understanding of the nature of the process to be improved. [Pg.123]

Finally, we discuss here a further set of potential areas for improvement across a wide area of the drug development process. [Pg.632]

Low 3delds indicate areas for improvements Convergent routes preferred, in principle If chiral, location of resolution step or integrity of induced stereocenters... [Pg.17]

As the ultimate goal of pharmacoepidemiology is to improve the rational use of drugs, the applications of the field to achieve that goal are quite broad. Here, we divide the applications into four major areas for improving the rational use of dmgs efficacy, safety, cost-effectiveness, and drug utilization. [Pg.32]

In any case, an efficient transportation and distribution of hydrogen from the production site to the end-user is needed for the wide-spread use of fuel cells envisioned by the hydrogen economy. Key R D areas for improving hydrogen transportation and distribution infrastructure include ... [Pg.81]

Once the areas for improvement have been identified, the details of data collected can be increased according to the requirements of the improvement and measurement effort. In some instances, decisions to track and measure product stewardship information (e.g., supplier performance) may be based on nonbnsiness criteria, such as responsible care compliance. [Pg.106]

The periodic management reviews ensure continuing suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness of the overall quality system, including assessment of areas for improvement, changes in existing policies, and objectives for further improvement. [Pg.208]

Promotes best practices Clearly defines quality standards Establishes measurable quality and compliance outputs Offers a rating system Management determines the priorities for correcting deficiencies Identifies areas for improvement Provides process to identify genesis of deficiencies and lack of or need to improve the quality system Fosters continuous improvement, total quality management, and forward quality thinking... [Pg.435]

Issue report The report should delineate both the best practices as well as any areas for improvement. Do not turn the audit report into a list... [Pg.446]
