The Report

The report starts with an overview of the whole spectrum of engineering and high performance polymers, including their chemical structure, properties, processing and an outline of key applications. [Pg.1]

Chapter 4 examines the global market for each polymer type, showing consumption by major world region and market sector for the period 1999-2002, and forecasts for 2007. [Pg.1]

The main body of the study is divided into five core sections based on key end user markets  [Pg.2]

Table 4.5 shows the results for an example. These results differ significantly from those obtained by the method of Riazi for the initial and 10% distilled points. The reported average error for this method is about 3°C, except for the initial point where it reaches 12°C. [Pg.101]

The results of the assessment are documented in an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), which discusses the beneficial and adverse impacts considered to result from the activity. The report is one component of the information upon which the decision maker ultimately makes a choice. A final decision can be made with due regard being paid to the likely consequences of adopting a particular course of action, and where necessary by introducing appropriate monitoring programs. [Pg.71]

It is known that diagram " Stress - Deformation " ( SD) is more vividly specifying the current metalwork condition. However, such diagram can be obtained only by destructive testing. Availability of a representative set of data examples. Such a set may significantly simplify construction of any automatic interpretation system. The example data is usually obtained from calibration pieces, however, they usually represent only the most common defects and are usually expensive to manufacture. Recently more and more data is stored as digital inspection records, unfortunately the stored data is rarely fully classified, as this would increase the cost of inspection (usually only the serious defects are given full description in the reports). [Pg.98]

The results of corrosion surveys are received by the Surveyor in an agreed format using Forms TMl - TM8, preferably with the LR software freely issued to the approved firms. The report will highlight any areas where corrosion has gone beyond the permitted maximum diminution, which may be as low as 15% of the nominal thickness for a single item, and will also identify areas of "substantial corrosion T.e., any in excess of 75% of the permitted maximum. Corrosion in excess of that permitted means that the item has to be replaced. Any areas of corrosion deemed to be "substantial" are recorded for annual inspection. The reports were that water condensed from the vapor phase into 10-100-/im quartz or pyrex capillaries had physical properties distinctly different from those of bulk liquid water. Confirmations came from a variety of laboratories around the world (see the August 1971 issue of Journal of Colloid Interface Science), and it was proposed that a new phase of water had been found many called this water polywater rather than the original Deijaguin term, anomalous water. There were confirming theoretical calculations (see Refs. 121, 122) Eventually, however, it was determined that the micro-amoimts of water that could be isolated from small capillaries was always contaminated by salts and other impurities leached from the walls. The nonexistence of anomalous or poly water as a new, pure phase of water was acknowledged in 1974 by Deijaguin and co-workers [123]. As a somewhat anecdotal aside, there has been an interesting question as to whether gold is or is not wet by water, with many publications on either side. This history has been reviewed by Smith [119].
