SANITIZED MARKETING

In the United States, Ecolab dominates the I I sector. With a market share of more than 30 percent, it easily outdoes the number-two player, Diversey. Spartan Chemical is another big contender. Dial (Henkel), Purell (Gojo), and Gold Bond are topselling brands in the personal cleanser and sanitizer market. Overall, in the personal-care market, private-label brands are by far the leader at mass merchandisers, with sales of 73.9 million in 2009. [Pg.487]

Anti-microbially modified textile materials can only be rewarded the Oko-Tex Standard 100 mark if the antimicrobial agent is considered safe for humans and environment by the Oko-Tex organisation. The product Sanitized T96-20 from Sanitized Marketing AG, Burgdorf, Switzerland was considered safe by the Oko-Tex organisation in 2002. [Pg.412]

Calcium Hypochlorite. This chemical, marketed since 1928, is one of the most widely used swimming-pool water sanitizers. Calcium hypochlorite, a crystalline sofld, is a convenient source of available chlorine and is sold in granular or tablet form for use in home, semiprivate, and commercial pools. When dissolved in water, Ca(OCl)2 forms hypochlorous acid and hypochlorite ion similar to NaOCl. It contains small amounts of stabilizing Ca(OH)2, which has a very small effect on pool pH (7). Calcium hypochlorite has superior storage stabiUty and much higher available CI2 concentration than Hquid bleach, which reduces storage requirements and purchasing frequency. [Pg.296]

Methyl bromide has been identified as an ozone-depleting substance and is being gradually removed from world markets. Current legislation and plans call for the elimination of methyl bromide in most industrial countries by 2005, with possible exemptions for quarantine (UNEP, 1996). Currently there is an extensive search worldwide for products that are alternatives to methyl bromide (Kawakami, 1999). These alternatives are broadly defined and include components of management plans such as sanitation, monitoring, contact insecticides, heat treatments, and modified atmospheres, in addition to new fumigants (Batchelor, 1998). [Pg.268]

In a survey on PCPs from the US market, Horii and Kannan [276] found the highest concentrations of D5 and D6 in a hquid foundation cosmetic sample 81,800 and 43,100 pg/g, respectively. Household sanitation products (fumimre polish) were found to contain up to 9,380 pg/g D4, while the highest concentrations of D7 (846 pg/g) were found, surprisingly, in a baby pacifier. [Pg.286]

A third concern is the industry s ability to compete with clam products harvested from the East Coast, Canada, Japan and Korea. To successfully compete, we must establish a reputation for a safe and wholesome quality product. To this end, Alaska has become a member of the National Shellfish Sanitation Program which allows us to participate in interstate marketing. In addition, the state has instituted a seafood certification program. [Pg.57]

Other Uses. An important market for quaternaries is sanitation. Quaternaries find use as disinfectants and sanitizers in hospitals, building maintenance, and food processing in secondary oil recovery for drilling fluids and in cooling water applications. See also Petroleum. Additional applications of quaternaries include the manufacture of organo-modilied clays and use as phase-transfer catalysts. [Pg.1399]

Many of the nonoxidizing biocides employed in cooling systems today were originally developed for other applications, such as slimicides for pulp and paper, biostats for cosmetics, or sanitizers for food factories. The experience gained for these applications has proved to be useful for cooling water systems. Some products that have been available for several years have been, or are being, launched into new and different markets, especially where environmental concerns have a high profile. [Pg.212]

A job to be done (JTBD) is the purpose for which customers buy products and services, like buying sanitizing soap to keep hands clean and germ-free at work. If you can fulfill this JTBD for your customers better than your competitors can, at a lower cost and with no harmful side effects, then you win market share. [Pg.373]

The success of a margarine manufacturer depends on many factors including marketing, productivity, and changes in ingredient costs. The foundation for continued success is the quality of the product itself. To ensure a constant high quality of the product, production and quality control as well as sanitation in the margarine plant are quite important disciplines. [Pg.2930]

Before it became a sanitized, suburban community, Huntington was the birthplace and home of Walt Whitman. His home is now a historical site and worth a visit for fans of the revolutionary poet. For fresh produce shipped in from the eastern end of the island, head to Sweet Potatoes Organic Market (35 Gerard St., b 516-423-6424). [Pg.39]

By contrast institutional and prison mattress markets have special needs best met by a urethane core type mattress. These include the need for repeated sanitizing and reduced handling weight. In prisons, mattresses must be designed to control hidden contraband as well. While this market volume is only five million pounds per year, it demands open-flame resistant foam. It is a very visible market and regulations developed for this market will potentially impact the residential sector. [Pg.108]

The quality and sanitation of candied fruits were inspected in seventy two samples randomly obtained from supermarkets, grocery stores and traditional markets in Taiwan. Water contents were found to range from 11 % to 56 %, Aw values were from 0.54 to 0.89, total soluble solids from 25 to 85 %, acidity from 0.3 % to 3.5 %, and pH from 2.5 to 4.3. Their benzoate contents was found to be from 0 to 3.55 g/kg, sorbate from 0 to 0.41 g/kg, and saccharin from 0 to 11.6 g/kg. [Pg.321]
