Murphy, J. A., Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) Reference Document. September 1984. [Pg.467]

The reason for an Exposition is so that there is a description of the system showing how it works and how it controls the achievement of quality. This is different from the policies and procedures. The policies are a guide to action and decision and as such are prescriptive. The procedures are the methods to be used to carry out certain tasks and as such are task related. They need to be relatively simple and concise. A car maintenance manual, for example, tells you how to maintain the car but not how the car works. Some requirements, such as those on traceability and identification, cannot be implemented by specific procedures although you can have specific policies covering such topics. There is no sequence of tasks you can perform to achieve traceability and identification. These requirements tend to be implemented as elements of many procedures which when taken as a whole achieve the traceability and identification requirements. In order that you can demonstrate achievement of such requirements and educate your staff, a description of the system rather than a separate procedure would be an advantage. The Exposition can be structured around the requirements of ISO/TS 16949 and other governing standards. It is a guide or reference document and not auditable. [Pg.164]

Do read the small print and any reference documents before you accept the contract. [Pg.234]

Don t state the issue status of reference documents in your procedures and specifications unless absolutely necessary. [Pg.306]

Some process maps are very complex and may simply confuse the reader if they are included in the base plan. You may include them in an appendix, or simply keep them as reference documents in the project file. If you decide not to present them, it may be worth showing a simplified example so that your readers can understand the process you have used. [Pg.63]

A limited amount of plant-specific data for the coil coating industry is available. Data available in the reference documents on the effluent streams for the plants discussed in the following subsections are summarized in Table 7.7. These data are verification data. All three subcategories are represented by the facilities.1... [Pg.276]

For the studies summarized in Table I and discussed in the following sections of the text, physicochemical properties (including partition coefficients) were collected from a variety of reference documents or estimated according to available equations (Table III). Acceptable daily doses were calculated from toxicological data (Table III). When more than one equation was available, judgment was used to determine which to apply. Table III excludes those contaminants footnoted in Table I. A default value of 1.0 was adopted for K for the first nine compounds of Table III (4). For PBBs, the value of log KQC was calculated from the solubility in creek water (7.96 x 10-4 pM), according to the equation (1,3)1... [Pg.272]

It should prove useful to those coming into the Rubber Industry, those in other businesses who have to work with it, and as a reference document for the everyday practitioner. [Pg.5]

The RA 25 group have begun the task given by CEN/TC127 (resolution 6 /6/) of preparing the text of a reference document on a three part method of test standard for wall and ceiling linings. [Pg.494]

USACHPPM Technical Guide (TG) 230 Chemical Exposure Guidelines for Deployed Military Personnel, Reference Document 230, Version 1.3. Washington, DC Government Printing Office, Updated May 2003. [Pg.732]

The practical implementation of the Directive takes place by means of the development of a series of BAT Reference Documents (BREFs) which serve as guidance documents either for individual industrial sectors (such as the chlor-alkali industry) or, in the case of the so-called lateral BREFs , for cross-cutting activities. [Pg.47]

Reference document identification (operating manuals, maintenance manuals, validation certificate). [Pg.399]

A short synopsis of the overall emergency management structure, how other industrial emergency response, contingency, and risk management plans fit into the ERP for chemical emergencies, and applicable policies, procedures, actions plans, and reference documents should be cited. Policies should include interconnect agreements with adjacent communities and just how the ERP may affect them. [Pg.139]

CHECKLISTS - Root cause investigation methods often include a set of integrated and comprehensive checklists (or accompanying reference documents) to ensure that common generic causes and issues are considered. [Pg.58]

Even in the case of a no-action decision, the fault and the decision to take no action should be documented. The logic of the decision-making should be documented, along with any facts and reference documents. [Pg.259]

As a reference document and an educational tool by any individuals who want to review important aspects of in-plant air quality, water quality, safety, and health protection at industrial sites having hazardous substances. [Pg.64]

Figure 6. Effects of various treatments or manipulations upon levels of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL), chalcone synthase (CHS), and the separately compartmented isozymes of DAHP synthase and chorismate mu-tase. Upwardly pointed arrows indicate a positive response (enzyme elevation) to the indicated treatment, whereas horizontal arrows indicate no change in enzyme level. References documenting the results shown are line 1 (54 our results with DAHP synthase and chorismate mutase isozymes) line 2 (49,55) line 3 (49,50,56) line 4 (57) line 5 (51) line 6 (52). Figure 6.
