This phase lasted several months, consisting of focus group sessions, open-ended questioning on specific issues and a pilot test of the fuU questionnaire. The process of questionnaire development and precise definition of the valuation issue are mutually dependent. Only through interaction with the target population were we able to get an idea of key concerns regarding water quality and the information/perceptions base from which these derive.

The questionnaire development, administration procedure, and response rate The number of items on the questionnaires was 254 for HS students, 105 for BS teachers, and 129 for PS/RM teachers. In the characterization of the sample, the questionnaire developed by Nunes et al., (2007), was used. This questionnaire was developed to retrieve data in a condensed way, according requirements of the ESAW. The questionnaire was designed to be adapted to any sector. In 2004, The Attitude towards Chemistry Laboratory Questionnaire (developed by Hofstein, Ben-Zvi, Samuel, 1976) was used in a study in which two groups of high-school chemistry students were compared (Kipnis Hofstein, 2005). To consolidate multiple reports efficiently, you may want to develop an enlarged chart based on the assessment report form (questionnaire, protocol, other), which can be filled in as assessments are completed.
