Rubidium metal is commeicially available in essentially two grades, 99 + % and 99.9 + %. The main impurities ate other alkali metals. Rubidium compounds are available in a variety of grades from 99% to 99.99 + %. Manufacturers and suppliers of mbidium metal and mbidium compounds usually supply a complete certificate of analysis upon request. Analyses of metal impurities in mbidium compounds are determined by atomic absorption or inductive coupled plasma spectroscopy (icp). Other metallic impurities, such as sodium and potassium, are determined by atomic absorption or emission spectrograph. For analysis, mbidium metal is converted to a compound such as mbidium chloride. [Pg.280]

The study performed by Burns and Roe (BSR) shows that valve failures constitute the component category most responsible for the shutdown of PWR and BWR plants. This Investigation, contracted with SNL for DOE, identified the principal types and causes of valve failures that led to plant trips for the period from 12/72 to 12/78. The primary sources of data for the report were searches of the data base, the monthly Gray Books, Nuclear Power Experience publications, as well as discussions with utilities, valve manufacturers, and suppliers. [Pg.105]

Planned maintenance is work having benefited from information issued by manufacturers and suppliers, the experience and knowledge of the service department staff, and reports and records from previous service visits. [Pg.785]

As planned maintenance encompasses all types covered within the preventive or scheduled systems, this can be examined in more detail. In preparing a planned maintenance system, all the available sources of information should be used. These include manufacturers and suppliers literature, trade associations, professional institutions, knowledge and experience from within the department and history and feedback from previous work for the specific type of equipment. [Pg.785]

To assist manufactures and suppliers attain the required level of health and safety, the Health and Safety Commission have commenced approving standards laid down by such bodies as the British Standards Institution. [Pg.1058]

There are a number of major, primary manufacturers of fuel treatments (such as McDermott-Canning, Inc. of the United States and Interplast S.A. of France), as well as many smaller regional producers. Gamlen is a very well known brand, but the group was split up some years ago and several manufacturers and suppliers around the world (including McDermott-Canning) now share the brand name. [Pg.679]

The CleanGredients development model engages a multi-stakeholder coalition of participants from government entities, environmental organizations, industry associations, cleaning product formulators and distributors, and chemical manufacturers and suppliers, working to shift the direction of industrial and institutional (I I) cleaning product... [Pg.297]

The trick is to meet EuroVI at affordable cost, while retaining the fuel economy and drivability attributes that are keys to Diesel s acceptance in the marketplace. Now the question is what is the best way to meet it A variety of options must be considered cost, robustness, complexity and application constraints. As 2007 begins, car manufacturers and suppliers are scrambling to make sure that, whatever they commit to in production, it will not be more costly than what the other companies devise. Over the past few years and for a long time, Diesel clean-up has been a very competitive and strategic field. [Pg.233]

At the request of an international petroleum company, a major manufacturer and supplier of down-hole equipment performed tests of the various elastomers commonly used in the construction of packers and other oil field tools. Seven of the nine most commonly used thermoplastic materials were found to be completely inert to TKPP solutions. The test included continual immersion in saturated TKPP for 21 days at 280°F. Only two elastomers, Vi-ton and Fluorel, showed any adverse reaction. O-rings made from these two elastomers showed minor cracking at the termination of the test. A listing of the elastomers that tested inert to TKPP solutions include nitrile, saturated nitrile (HNBR), Aflas, Kalrez, PEEK, Glass-filled Teflon, and Ryton. Several of these elastomers are attacked or degraded by conventional clear completion fluids containing calcium and zinc halides. The inertness of commonly employed elastomers to TKPP is an important advantage for TKPP fluids in normal operations. [Pg.632]

Your first source for chemical reactivity data should be your material manufacturer or supplier/distributor. Some manufacturers and suppliers have developed pamphlets or other product literature giving more extensive information than what is on the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). You... [Pg.82]

Under the agreement, companies will reduce emissions of these compounds from their facilities and consumer products by 95 per cent by 2010, and work towards eliminating the sources of PFOA by no later than 2015. Furthermore, PFOS and PFOA as well as other perfluorocarboxylic acids (PFCAs) are stable degradation products and/or metabolites of neutral PFCs such as fluorotelomer alcohols (PFTOHs), perfluorinated sulphonamides (PFASAs) and perfluorinated sulphonamide ethanols (PFASEs) [22]. Therefore, the largest global manufacturer and supplier of fluorotelomers such as Capstone, DuPont have adapted its entire product line to utilise short-chain chemistry because short-chain molecules cannot break down to PFOA in the environment. [Pg.339]

Other avenues for increasing process safety knowledge exist. Previously unrecognized potential hazards and latent properties of materials are written about in industry and technical journals. Peer-reviewed research work in the area of process safety is published in several international scientific journals. Manufacturers and suppliers of process equipment often publicize previously unrecognized failure modes. Additional information on case histories can be found in Chapter 15. [Pg.286]

This is reflected in both legislative requirements and greater competition to meet the demands of society. The access of consumers to more global and detailed information systems, referring to the particular features of products and services provided, as well as increasing consumer awareness, put additional pressure on manufacturers and suppliers. [Pg.73]

Various activities come under conformity assessment all of them are based on sampling, testing and reporting. First-party testing is carried out by manufacturers and suppliers. Second-party testing is performed by buyers, users or consumers. Third-party testing is carried out by organizations independent of the above parties. [Pg.77]

Material Safety Data Sheets on over 120 000 compounds from 600 North American manufacturers and suppliers. [Pg.11]

Al.l The low-range thermometer, which conforms also to the specifications of the cup thermometer in the Tag Closed Tester (ASTM Method D 56, Test for Flash Point by Tag Closed Tester) and which frequently is fitted with a metal ferrule intended to fit the collar on the lid of the Tag Flash Tester, can be supplemented by an adapter (Fig Al) to be used in the larger diam collar of the Fen sky-Martens apparatus. Differences in dimensions of these collars, which do not affect test results are a source of unnecessary trouble to manufacturers and suppliers of instruments, as well as to users... [Pg.478]
