A fuel gas under pressure which may be hydrogen, towns gas, acetylene or propane. With special nozzles, low-pressure acetylene or butane can be used, but it is not common practice. The use of single cylinders of fuel gas is now giving way (except under site conditions) to the gases drawn from bulk liquid storage. All modern installations use flowmeters in the gaseous feeds. [Pg.419]

Filling, emptying of flammable liquids Storage of flammable liquids in old containers 0.25... [Pg.156]

Aerobic. Leachate is removed from the bottom layer, piped to liquids storage tanks, and recirculated into the landfill in a controlled manner. Air is injected into the waste mass, using vertical or horizontal wells, to promote aerobic activity and accelerate waste stabilization. [Pg.640]

The ionic liquid investment could be further reduced if future research enables the application of ammonium based alkylsulfate or arylsulfonate ionic liquids. For these systems bulk prices around 15 /kg are expected. Ammonium based alkylsulfate or arylsulfonate ionic liquids usually show melting points slightly above room temperature but clearly below the operating temperature of the hydroformylation reaction. Therefore these systems may be less suitable for the liquid-liquid biphasic process in which the ionic liquid may be involved in process steps at ambient temperature (e.g. phase separation or liquid storage). In contrast, for the SILP catalyst a room temperature ionic liquid is not necessarily required as long as the film becomes a liquid under the reaction conditions. Assuming an ammonium based SILP catalyst, the capital investment for the ionic liquid for the industrial SILP catalyst would add up to 105,000 . [Pg.209]

Where relief valves are provided on liquid storage tanks or vessels, where there is a possibility of liquid release, i.e., liquid slug, careful evaluation of the release disposal system (e.g., flare header) needs to be undertaken. In some cases, a liquid slug may block a header from releasing pressure and defeat the purpose of the pressure release system. [Pg.138]

Where enclosed spaces may produce overpressures blow out panels or walls are provided to relieve the pressure forces. The connections of the panel are specified at a lower strength that normal panels so it will fail at the lower level and relieve the pressures. Similarly, combustible or flammable liquid storage tanks are provided with weak roof to shell seams so that in case of an internal explosion, the built-up pressure is relieved by blowing off the roof and the entire tank does not collapse. [Pg.164]

Incidental combustible liquid storage (e g., lube oil reservoirs, fuel day tanks, etc.) should normally not be installed within 1.8 meters (6 ft.) of an emergency exit route, especially if it is the only means of egress from an enclosure. [Pg.198]

These three cases make clear that when central production is considered, gaseous and liquid distribution are both plausible, and that the actual investment decision for one or the other may be decided by local market conditions, such as the (anticipated) retail density, and practical considerations such as the spatial and safety requirements for gaseous and liquid storage. All three cases come out significantly cheaper than on-site reforming or electrolysis. [Pg.344]
