This index provides general information on the Federal Standardization Document System, how to use the Index, and how to obtain Federal Standardization Documents. Software changes Assess software updates for compatibility with the existing software with particular emphasis on any changes made. In terms of system or standard software products, there is normally a bug fix list and details of new, modified, and removed features. Supplier s documentation should include an analysis of the impacts of the patch on their system, and this should be used by the customer to assess the extent of testing required to validate the patch implementation. These documents should be assessed to determine the effects of the change and any appropriate testing performed and incorporated into a validation dossier.

A major European standard for repair methods, selection specification and installation is nearing completion with the publication of EN1504 parts 1-10. These documents are designed to meet the harmonized products directive and are principally concerned with the materials used in non-electrochemical concrete repair, their testing prior to use and the site application. Table 8.2 lists the standards. From the point of view of selection and application of repairs parts 9 and 10 are key parts of this standard. 

Technical file. The manufacturer s technical documentation file supports the CE marking. The contents of a technical file generally include the declaration of conformity, name and address of manufacturer, product description and identification, list of standards and directives applied, design and schematic drawings, calculations, test reports, parts lists, manuals, and so on. Technical files must be readily available and may be requested by enforcement authorities for inspection purposes should a product become suspect or an incident occur. 

The manufacturer conducts a full risk assessment of his product against, for example EN ISO 14121 (ISO 2007), and draws up a list of potential directives and standards that cover the product type and the hazards exposed. A review of the scope of the directives enables the manufacturer to decide whether his product is within scope or not. The decisions taken are recorded in the product s technical documentation as evidence of due-diligence in meeting the essential requirements. 

This document lists the specifications and standards for those plastic materials and plastics applications which are considered to be of interest to engineers concerned with the design, development, production, and handling of defense hardware. Included are specifications for the basic or raw materials, composite materials, and the items and applications of potential defense concern. Excluded are specifications on life-situation items clothing, utensils, and furniture, and decorative or preservative coatings.
