Lymphomas carcinomas

CCI-779 - renal carcinoma, lymphoma AP23573 - sarcomas RAD-001 - pancreatic cancer Again, several preclinical studies suggest that rapalogs will have synergistic affects when used in combination with other chemotherapeutics. [Pg.1216]

Hormone-sensitive tumors may regress, and frequently stop growth upon introduction of certain hormones. The main hormone-sensitive forms of cancer are breast and prostate carcinoma, lymphoma, and a few other forms of carcinomas. [Pg.408]

Folpe and associates were the first to study FEI-1 immu-noreactivity in human endothelial neoplasms. They observed a 94% marker sensitivity in that specific context and found no labeling of nonvascular tumors. However, more recently, Mhawech-Fauceglia and colleagues have documented FLI-1 positivity in some carcinomas, lymphomas, and rhabdomyosarcomas as well. In aggregate, these data support the use of FLI-1 as an adjuvant to the diagnoses of PNET or vascular neoplasms, but only in combination with other immunoreactants. [Pg.94]

Metal-based drugs have probably had most impact in the area of cancer therapy, with cisplatin still used to treat approximately 70% of all cancer patients. Cisplatin is particularly useful for treatment of testicular, ovarian, oropharyngeal, bronchogenic, cervical, and bladder carcinomas, lymphoma, osteosarcoma, melanoma, and neuroblastoma. Metallocene-type compounds were the first organometallic compounds to be evaluated in cancer therapy, and until recently, Ti(77 -C5H5)2Cl2 was undergoing clinical trials (see above). Despite this setback to the field,... [Pg.445]

Bleomycins glycopeptide antibiotics produced by Streptomyces verticillus and used widely for treatment of squamous cell carcinomas, lymphomas and testicular cancer. About 200 different B. are known, differing mostly in the nature of the C-terminal substituent, which can be varied by adding difierent amines to the bacterial culture medium. The clinically used preparation is a mixture of 11 B., known by the trade name Blenoxane the chief constituents are B.A2 (60-70%) and B.B (20-25%) (Fig.). [Pg.74]

Clinically the lesion appears with diffuse penile swelling or like a mass, a plaque or an ulcer in the penile skin. Contrary to squamous cell carcinoma, lymphoma usually presents in the penile shaft rather than in the glans and prepuce. At color Doppler ultrasonography penile lymphoma presents as an isoechoic or relatively hypoechoic hypervascu-larized lesion (Fig. 14.5). Infiltration of the corpora cavernosa is often present. [Pg.119]

These include carcinomas, lymphomas, GISTs, and secondary deposits. Adenocarcinoma accounts for approximately 75% of malignant tumours, lymphomas some 20%, and the rest the remaining 5%. [Pg.113]
