Accreditation inspection

College of American Pathologists Laboratory Accreditation Program (1997) Standards for Laboratory Accreditation, Commission on Laboratory Accreditation Inspection Checklist, Sections 1 and 8. [Pg.414]

Many countries use volunteer peer reviewers for accreditation inspections. Although the commitment required can be seen as a cost to the reviewers organizations, a benefit is the training they receive, which can be put to effective use in internal audits. [Pg.273]

Two professional associations, one based in the USA and another based in Europe, exist for the purpose of creating human tissue banking standards. The American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and European Association of Tissue Banks (EATB) provide standards for operation, tissue bank staff certification, and an accredited inspection process. The AATB and EATB have been very active in establishing tissue-banking standards for other countries with organizations that wish to develop human tissue banks for therapeutic, and more recently, research purposes. [Pg.196]

In the Japanese accreditation scheme, either domestic or foreign bodies, which have been pre-registered with the MAFF, provide accreditation to producers, processors, re-packers and importers who are to handle accredited organic products. Those accredited inspect the would-be organic products and issue the label JAS organic and then, allow it to be sent to the market if the products meet accredited standards. Thus, the scheme traces all the processes from producers to consumers and ensures that the products be organically produced, processed, and packed. [Pg.296]

Part evaluation by accredited contractors or test laboratory provides independent verification which can substitute for your own receiving inspection, providing you maintain control over the contractor. [Pg.383]

The standard requires that where inspection, testing, and calibration services are conducted bp a commercial/independent laboratorp facilify, the laboratorp shall be accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 or national equivalent. [Pg.393]

The application of EN 45011 led to a strong reduction in the number of certification bodies in several countries, like France. In some EU countries the inspection bodies have to be accredited by the national accreditation body, in others they do not (Michaud et al 2004). [Pg.43]

Standards Universal production standards, assured through accreditation and inspection No universal standards. Voluntary codes of conduct and self-regula-tion becoming more common... [Pg.459]

The laboratories are inspected annually by the National Measurement Accreditation Scheme (NAMAS) and for conformity to GLP. Part of the inspection is a vertical audit, which involves tracing a sample from the moment it is dehvered to the laboratory to when the result is reported. All the records of its passage through the system are traced. For... [Pg.101]

The conformity assessment body could be a laboratory, the third-party could be the accreditor coming to your laboratory to inspect, whether the required documentation, manuals, procedures, or personnel are appropriate to perform the specific conformity assessment task e.g. determine PAHs by HPLC. If the laboratory (the conformity assessment body) and the personnel can do the job then accreditation might be granted. Being accredited can be of competitive advantage for laboratories. Sometimes contractors require the (analytical) work to be carried out in an accredited laboratory. Accreditation gives confidence to the customer that the laboratory will fulfil the requirements that are necessary for the work to be done competently. You find more about accreditation in chapter 2 of this book. [Pg.5]

The assessment report of the assessors will be inspected by the members of a local committee which makes a recommendation to accredit the laboratory (or not). [Pg.21]

The authorized inspector shall have a minimum of 10 years experience in the design, fabrication, or inspection of industrial pressure piping. Each 20 percent of satisfactory work toward an engineering degree accredited by the Engineers Council for Professional Development shall be considered equivalent to 1 year s experience, up to 5 years total. [Pg.126]

The Government of India has established the National GLP Compliance Monitoring Authority (India GLP), adopting the OECD quality system of the principles of GLP, for inspection, monitoring, and accreditation of test facilities in India for conducting nonclinical and environmental safety studies. Currently, India enjoys the full member status of OECD for GLP. India is a member of the OECD Test Guidelines program. [Pg.15]

Currently 23 Indian laboratories have been accredited by the Indian national GLP compliance monitoring authority as per the provisions of the OECD Principles of GLP to conduct nonclinical health and environmental safety studies. The Indian system of GLP inspection, accreditation, and monitoring of test facilities was started in 2004 (India GLP). [Pg.15]

External Quality Control and Accreditation Participation in PT schemes is an objective means of evaluating the reliability of the data produced by a laboratory. Another form of external assessment of the laboratory performance is the physical inspection of the laboratory to ensure that it complies with externally imposed standards. Accreditation of the laboratory indicates that it is applying the required... [Pg.781]

On the other hand, the SIM analysis of a predefined set of analytes (Fig. 3.1.4a) require visual inspection, but only to exclude unexpected interferences in the signal of a target compound. For the purpose of detecting unexpected interferences, it is necessary, and is also a CAP accreditation requirement, to monitor at least two ion species per compound (Fig. 3.1.4b and c), so as to recognize artificial variations in the intensity ratios between two ion chromatograms. Figure 3.1.5 shows examples of characteristic organic acid profiles in patients with selected conditions [32]. [Pg.153]

OPCW procedures. After validation and packing has been completed, the Office of Internal Oversight (OIO) audits the process of instrument preparation and issues a certificate for on-site use. The OPCW Laboratory and the OIO are accredited for this process. The instrument is to be operated exclusively by AC inspectors who are trained and authorized for this task. At least one of the ACs participating in the inspection will assist during the instrument validation and packing process at the OPCW Laboratory. [Pg.37]

In conclusion, it seems probable that, with the exception of unrefined oils and lecithin, there is no likelihood of detection of the presence of GM oils in most of the vegetable oils traded throughout the world in the foreseeable future. The only way to ensure that oils are authentic would be a complex, comprehensive and expensive scheme inspection and accreditation scheme, including the analysis of all batches of the source oilseed. This does not seem a likely possibility. [Pg.14]
