Provider accreditation American Council on Pharmaceutical Education. [Pg.227]

Providing accrediting centers, where clinical pharmacy activities are carried out and which arc prepared to host visiting pharmacists or pharmacy students in each European country. [Pg.344]

The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)—JCAHO began providing accreditation services by focusing on hospitals more recently, its services have been expanded to provide accreditation services for a wide continuum of healthcare providers. In fact, JCAHO shifted its accreditation focus toward a continuous quality improvement (CQI) process and incorporated outcomes measures into the standards. Information on JCAHO and its standards can be found at www.jcaho.org. [Pg.509]

In the Japanese accreditation scheme, either domestic or foreign bodies, which have been pre-registered with the MAFF, provide accreditation to producers, processors, re-packers and importers who are to handle accredited organic products. Those accredited inspect the would-be organic products and issue the label JAS organic and then, allow it to be sent to the market if the products meet accredited standards. Thus, the scheme traces all the processes from producers to consumers and ensures that the products be organically produced, processed, and packed. [Pg.296]

The process for initiating and electing health and safety representatives, where it is in the enabling legislation, such as for example in S.17 of the South African OHS Act, varies somewhat in each jurisdiction. Some provide accredited training for such representatives. [Pg.105]

In the realm of education for Medical and Biological Engineering in Japan, JSMBE organizes 5 training courses a year for clinical engineers and conducts certification examinations for clinical engineers, with approximately 5000 applicants. It also provides accreditation service for clinical medical engineering specialists. JSMBE has accredited 444 specialists in total. [Pg.186]

Organizations need to build capabilities of different types that include content, connectivity, computer applications, commerce, and care (Schlachter 2004). Content provides information on diseases, drugs, therapies, research databases, and other clinical data. It may also contain information on healthcare providers -accreditations, and performance ratings. Different types of databases such as consumer data, genomic data, test images, and device-specific data are being built and integrated. [Pg.340]

Quality in NDT depends upon a number of factors. Qualification of NDT personnel, technical state and correctness of choice of testing equipment, availability of approved working procedures of examination, calibration of NDT equipment have decisive importance among those factors of an NDT laboratory. Assessment of NDT laboratory competence is provided through accreditation in compliance with the EN 45000 series standards. [Pg.953]

In India, the Central Mining Research Institute, Dhanbad carries out this testing and provides the necessary certilication for motors used iti explosive atmospheres. But for approval of the equipment, whether it is worthy of use in a particitlar hazardous area, there are accredited agencies.. Some of these are Directorate General Mines Safety. Dhanbad, Chief Controller of Explosives. Nagpur and Directorate General of Factory Advice Service and Labour Institute. Bonibav. [Pg.183]

These assessments do not need to be carried out on the subcontractor s premises. Much of the data needed can be accumulated from a subcontractor questionnaire and searches through directories and registers of companies, and you can choose to rely on assessments carried out by accredited third parties to provide the necessary level of confidence. (The Directories of Companies of Assessed Capability that are maintained by the Accreditation Agencies can be a good place to start.) The assessments may yield subcontractors over a wide range and you may find it beneficial to classify subcontractors as follows ... [Pg.315]

Part evaluation by accredited contractors or test laboratory provides independent verification which can substitute for your own receiving inspection, providing you maintain control over the contractor. [Pg.383]

It will not be easy to shoehorn all of these elements into a 4-year program, and the initiation of carefully delimited electives and options for students is probably the best approach. The coimnittee applauds the recent action of the AlChE to allow more flexibility in the choice of science electives by undergraduates in accredited departments. The development of such electives and new course sequences is not a casual undertaking. It will require greater involvement by faculty in providing advice and counsel to students at the sophomore and junior level, who may not be prepared to make definitive choices about specialization in their major. [Pg.189]

Over the past decade, a major trend has been the development of the use of proficiency testing (PT) or evaluation materials (Fox 2000). PT materials are a type of reference material, which aid in assessment of analytical laboratory measurement quality. There will be an increased use of such materials as part of laboratory accreditation programs and other new quality assurance efforts, including internal audits. At the same time, a number of providers have used PT schemes to produce a form of RM intended to meet the ever-growing need for RMs required for routine QC use (Jenks 1995,1997). [Pg.280]

Laboratory Accreditation and Quality Systems" Together these make laboratory managers look for added security in assuring data quality and thus invoke a desire in them to fall back on the best available standard. The result is that a CRM is often used instead of a working standard. This is a tendency that is supported and encouraged by some RM providers but discouraged by others. [Pg.289]

The Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. [Pg.1713]

The Medical College of Georgia is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Georgia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. [Pg.1713]

The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. [Pg.1713]

Guidelines for the Requirements for the Competence of Providers of Proficiency Testing Schemes , ILAC G13 2000, International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), Silverwater, Australia, 2000. [Pg.199]

The OPCW expert group found however that the procedures for environmental sample analysis were too inflexible to achieve the desired outcome. A separate approach would be needed to enable a system that would provide the necessary level and quality of information, but be practical and also recognise the very infrequent likelihood of a requirement for this capability. Compared to the current OPCW approach to environmental samples, that for biomedical samples would likely use a laboratory with a research rather than a routine focus, the accreditation procedures would be less stringent, and the methods used would focus on high quality results at the lowest limits of detection, rather than high throughput. It is not expected that more than a few laboratories will wish to maintain all or some of the necessary expertise to perform these tasks. [Pg.126]
