Zone 21 standards, requirements

European diesel fuel specifications (EN 590 Standard). Requirements for temperate climatic zones. [Pg.215]

TGL 30042 has defined a four-zone concept for areas hazardous due to combustible gases, vapours and mists EG 1, comparable with zone 0 EG 2 and EG 3, covering zone 1 EG 4, comparable with zone 2. In contradiction to the majority of standards covering the zone 1 requirements with all types of protection such as flameproof enclosure, increased safety, pressurization, oil immersion, intrinsic safety, powder filling, EG 2 excludes the general application of, e.g., increased safety e, which has been the domain of EG 3. [Pg.54]

Install systems to meet the requirements of NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems. It is not the intent of the standard to require sprinkler systems but ensure installation meets the standard requirements. In new and existing facilities using defend-in-place procedures, sprinkler system zones should coincide with smoke compartment boundaries or meet the requirements addressed in the facility fire plan. [Pg.234]

Q. Construction employees working on highway/road construction work zones often risk being struck by traffic. Do the OSHA standards require high-visibility apparel for these constmction workers ... [Pg.1387]

Cleanroom standard The US Federal Standard 209E, Airborne Particulate Cleanliness Classes in Clean-rooms and Clean Zones, is required for manufacturers who want to conform to quality system regulation. Via the industrial ISO European Community, it has been integrated with ISO. Among the more important recent changes are metrication, revision of upper confidence level (UCL) requirement, provisions for sequential sampling, and an alternative verification procedure based on determination of the concept of ultra-fine particles known as U descriptors. [Pg.503]

Once the phonon frequencies are known it becomes possible to determine various thermodynamic quantities using statistical mechanics (see Appendix 6.1). Here again some slight modifications are required to the standard formulae. These modifications are usually a consequence of the need to sum over the points sampled in the Brillouin zone. For example, the zero-point energy is ... [Pg.313]

Memory requirements for one-dimensional eontinuum dynamies ealeulations are minimal by the standards of eurrent hardware. Thus, sufTieiently fine zoning ean be used in sueh ealeulations to eapture details of material response and provide a rigorous test of fidelity for the numerieal models employed. The ability to use fine zoning also ensures that any diserepaneies between ealeulation and experiment ean be attributed, with eonsiderable eonfidenee, to Inadequaeies in the material response model. In faet, most desktop workstations have suffieient eomputing horsepower and memory to meet the eom-putating needs in one-dimensional material response studies. [Pg.342]

Eliminates or controls worker Site work zones and safety standards safety requirements... [Pg.8]

If a truck driver is hauling clay fill into an exclusion zone, does this fall under the HAZWOPER standard At some sites, it might be a requirement that ALL persons (including truck drivers) are HAZWOPER trained. However, in all likelihood, a requirement to HAZWOPER train all truck drivers would be a difficult requirement to administer. At most sites, drivers are not HAZWOPER trained. One way to avoid this training would be to require that the drivers do not drive through contaminated areas. In addition, make sure that the drivers know that they must not leave their trucks and that they should keep their windows rolled up. [Pg.21]

If the area and eorridor ean be maintained free of safety hazards arising from the hazardous waste operation, the work probably would not fall under the requirements. In this ease, the area and eorridor would eonstitute a temporary support zone. Beeause the work involves eleetri-eal utilities, it would fall under the most proteetive standard of praetiee, sueh as OSHA s Eleetrieal Standard or the National Eleetrie Code (NEC). Also, there may be other requirements that apply. Administrative eontrols sueh as HAZWOPER-trained eseorts are used to make eertain that the utility workers are not exposed to any hazards from the operation. The proeedures to be followed are doeumented in the site-speeifie HASP [1]. [Pg.23]

The average experimental value of the coefficient 0 is 1.7 with a standard deviation (og) of 0.05. Equation (7.160) allows one to calculate the momentum ratio (/rj2/foi) required to extend the length of zone I to the value equal to Xj, given that the distance between the directing nozzles is equal to The graph presented in Fig. 7.56 is plotted according to Eq. (7.160) for and X,2 equal to 6.2. The maximum value of reverse flow velocity (n,, .) was found to be in the cross-section at X equal to Xy... [Pg.501]

In the current review, the term effectiveness of air distribution will be used to describe the ratio of the occupied zone area (where thermal comfort and contaminant concentration are within ranges required by standards and codes) to the total occupied zone area. This hygienic criterion allows one to judge how well the HVAC system fulfills its main task—creating thermal comfort conditions and controlling contaminants in the occupied zone. [Pg.625]

Grade A is the highest standard, and is required for local zones where high-risk tasks are carried out. Examples are the aseptic filling of a product following filtration through a 0.22 pm filter to render it sterile, and general aseptic manipulations. This is usually achieved by the use of cabinets or hoods that enable laminar airfiow patterns to be established. [Pg.218]

As mentioned earlier, a-D-carba-galactopyranose (1) has been found in a fermentation broth of Streptomyces sp. MA-4145, as an antibiotic. The potency of the antibiotic was rather low. A concentration of—125 fig/mh is required in order to produce a standard inhibition zone of 25-mm diameter against Klebsiella pneumoniae MB-1264, using 13-mm assay discs in a disc-plate assay. A sample of the synthetic a-DL-carba-galactopyranose (17) was... [Pg.86]
