ABSTRACT This research work studies the importance of traffic management in road construction works, in order to ensure safety of all the interveners at the construction site. In this case, it was studied a road infrastructure called Transmontana Highway. This construction was chosen because of the particularity of being built simultaneously with the movement of road traffic, mostly due to the fact that the construction currently uses certain parts of the Principal Itinerary 4 (IP4). The work started with bibliographic review, followed by conducted meetings with the responsible in order to know the whole current process and the project itself, before going to the construction site.

The updated Mayor s air quality strategy addresses various measures which are proposed in the strategy and should be implemented in the near future [7]. This includes inter alia no-idling zones , more efficient freight movements, promotion of smarter travel, lane rental schemes for construction work in congested roads, supporting the uptake of low emission and electric vehicles, hybrid buses for public transport, renewal of the taxi fleet and enforced implementation of best practice guidance for construction sites.

In the three years from 1942 to 1945, the US opened thirteen new chemical warfare plants. The most ambitious was the 60 million Pine Bluff Arsenal in Arkansas. Construction work began on 2 December 1941, five days before Pearl Harbor, on a 15,000 acre site. Within eight months an army of labourers and construction experts had laid miles of road and railway track, built factories, storage depots, laboratories, shops, offices, a hospital, a fire station, a police building, water, gas and electricity supplies and a telephone exchange. 

The power of analytical instrumentation currently available makes it possible to detect organic contaminants leached from solid wastes used as road construction and repair (C R) materials at extremely low concentrations. Such low detection limits are essential if contaminants are to be measured with the accuracy and precision required to model their environmental chemodynamic behavior. Most of the work on organic analysis and characterization has resulted from the use of gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) [1].

Existing transportation infrastructure, such as road n works, navigable rivers, and railways, presents a great advantage for locating a fertilizer plant. Today even medium-scale plants should expect to transport more than 1 million tonnes of material per year. Therefore, access to a transportation network is very important for investment costs and future farm-gate fertilizer prices.
