Personnel training, test runs, cold operation, manual preparation. 

All employed dryers must be equipped with clear and comprehensive operating manuals prepared jointly by the equipment supplier and the plant operating management. The manual should be learned by the operators, who are to be trained in recognition of hazardous situations and risk assessment with the material being dried. Very useful techniques, known as Hazop (hazard and operability studies) and Kazan (hazard analysis), may be applied successfully in both new and existing processing plants [39,40]. 

With the job-analysis information in hand, lOS developed the written examinations to measure the candidates job-related knowledge. For each test, lOS compiled a list of training manuals, department procedures, and other materials to use as sources for the test questions. lOS presented the proposed sources to the New Haven fire chief and assistant fire chief for their approval. Then, using the approved sources, lOS drafted a multiple-choice test for each position. Each 2666 test had 100 questions, as required by CSB rules, and was written below a lOth-grade reading level. After lOS prepared the tests, the City opened a 3-month study period. It gave candidates a list that identified the source material for the questions, including the specific chapters from which the questions were taken.

Third, Collins s apprentices can trust that expert rules can guide future behavior once tacit knowledge is articulated as scientific expertise. As one MSHA training manual reminds miners, however, no single plan or rule for roof bolting can guide behavior in all situations The plan was prepared to meet normal conditions in the mine. The miner may very likely encounter... 

Using needs assessment methodology the regional body has identified the need for professional training and recurrent qualification training of airport operators persoimel. It has from its own resources and assisted by a member of the FAA airport standards staff, delivered a three day seminar on aerodrome manual preparation to some 33 aerodrome specialists from the region. 

Operating manuals give the detailed, step by step, instructions for operation of the process and equipment. They would normally be prepared by the operating company personnel, but may also be issued by a contractor as part of the contract package for a less experienced client. The operating manuals would be used for operator instruction and training, and for the preparation of the formal plant operating instructions. 

Well-prepared SOPs wiU serve as a good training tool for new employees and wUl provide a handy crutch for experienced personnel whose memory of study methods may need some refreshing. Although not a GLP requirement, many laboratories provide each employee with a complete copy of the SOP manual in addition to providing the mandatory working copies of individual SOP titles in each work area. 

A biosafety manual is prepared or adopted. Laboratory personnel receive training on potential hazards associated with the work involved, precautions to prevent exposures, and exposure evaluation procedures. Appropriate immunizations... 

In September 1985 Training Course on Research Methodology in Plant Taxonomy win conducted in the Herbarium Bogoriense under the auspices of the former National Biological Institute - LI PI, the Rijksherbarium Leiden, and UNESCO-MAB. The course was attended by Indonesian junior scientists and junior lecturers at the beginning of their career and specialization as practicing plant taxonomists.. For that purpose special hand outs were prepared and accumulated into a handy manual which was consulted daily by the trainees throughout the course.
