Service contract management

A postproject management audit (project audit) is performed to verify that project terms were carried out and that services contracted for were satisfactorily completed. Once these basic objectives have been achieved, it is important that all documents are properly assembled and the project file be closed and stored in a manner permitting rapid reference and retrieval. [Pg.223]

Internal personnel will normally undertake boiler plant operation. Maintenance work may be by either internal personnel or outside contractors. Service contracts will be available from equipment suppliers covering all items of the boiler plant. Recently, companies have started offering contract energy-management schemes. These may be designed to suit individual applications and will be tailored to customer requirements. They may take over the operation of an existing plant or, if necessary, include for a new replacement plant. They will usually operate over a 3-10-year contract period. Dependent upon the terms of contract, all fuels, electricity, repairs and replacements may be covered. [Pg.369]

Utilities plant contract labor Today these chemical water treatment-based full-service programs may be further enhanced by the supply of various boiler plant mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair work, plus energy management services, all from a single supplier source. In fact, many customers are now replacing their entire utilities staff with contract labor under a utilities service contract. The utilities plant contractor usually subcontracts the water treatment full-service component to a specialist water treatment and environmental services company. [Pg.128]

To summarise it one could say that the Chemical Leasing contract will be an atypical service contract which is most similar to a contract for works and services, but contains also elements of service contract and tenancy. In the case of high integration and foundation of a company for the purpose of chemical management the mutual obligations can be regulated on the basis of a company agreement. [Pg.126]

All manufacturers manage shipping orders—the decision to move shipments of parts and finished goods from one facihty to another in the process of fulfilling customer orders. What is captured for the order is the associated shipments, the starting and ending locations, the means of transfer, the nominal pickup and delivery times, and the associated authorizations. Engineering, procurement, and construction management may be structured as a separate contract ( EPCM services or management contract ). The contractor s task is the engineering and management of the project and in the process competitively procuring the direct field cost (DEC) elements, that is, all the physical plant and its construction, on behalf of the client or on a reimbursable basis. Neither passive nor active fire protection measures can be installed and then forgotten they require regular inspection and maintenance. Service contracts should be established with accredited contractors for installed equipment but the fire safety manager should also ensure that regular inspections are made of escape routes, fire doors and housekeeping standards and that suitable records of such inspections are kept. [Pg.173]

The hardware comprises one or more computers (mainframe, server, PC), a printer, a plotter, a memory, a network, and other components. Often the laboratory cannot choose the hardware components as there are preconditions set by the management of the organization. In addition to the investment costs, those for a service contract must be calculated. [Pg.1469]

For a price, the manufacturers of nuclear Instruments offer the required service for their instruments. If sufficient funds are available, a service contract can be established, and the manufacturer, or his service laboratory, will take care of the installed instrumentation. This is sound practice for a laboratory in an advanced country where the manufacturer s service person is available on call, and where the rather stiff prices of the service contracts can be accommodated in the laboratory budget. In developing countries, both commodities (available service and sufficient hard currency) are an exception rather than a rule. The management of developing laboratories must find an alternative solution. [Pg.9]
