DayCart is a software cartridge which offers a range of operation on an Oracle database, such as complete structure, similarity, and substructure search. The software can be obtained from Daylight Chemical Information Systems, Inc. (Mission Viejo CA) URL www.daylight.com... [Pg.315]

A new tool for computational ADME/Tox called MetaDrug includes a manually annotated Oracle database of human drug metabolism information including xenobiotic reactions, enzyme substrates, and enzyme inhibitors with kinetic data. The MetaDrug database has been used to predict some of the major metabolic pathways and identify the involvement of P450s [78]. This database has enabled the generation of over 80 key metabolic... [Pg.452]

QuanOptimize from Micromass also allows automated method development for quantitative LC/MS/MS. It automatically identifies the best method for each compound, then runs batches of samples for quantitative analyses and report results in a QuanLynx browser. Thermo recently launched a similar product for automatic MS tuning. Known as QuickQuan, it generates data and stores it in a central Microsoft Access or Oracle database for future access. The infusion-based valve switching auto-tuning device allows individual compounds to be fully and automatically optimized in about 1 min. [Pg.236]

The SGX Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is based on an Oracle database platform. As an enterprise level relational database, Oracle is robust and can be expanded to meet any future needs. The expense to implement and maintain the database and to create the tools to retrieve the data stored within, including an administrator dedicated to managing the system, can be significant. At SGX, use of the LIMS to monitor all of our scientific activities reduces the incremental cost to the beamline to an acceptable level. [Pg.183]

For example, audit trails may be implemented by using database triggers. A trigger is a feature of the Oracle database, which allows code written by the user to be executed based on an event. The concept implies that the edition of a record will produce an event. The event may be defined as an insert, update, or deletion of data from a database table. [Pg.193]

Pharmacophore profiles are defined that represent the set of all the pharmacophores found across the conformers of a series of conformers or series of molecules. Each pharmacophore added to the profile has to be unique. This profile will help in showing the spread of pharmacophores across the conformational space of a molecule or a series of molecules. No sum of the exhibited pharmacophores or normalization is done. There is no direct graphical representation of pharmacophore models. The pharmacophores can be saved to a file in CSV format that can be imported into a MySQL or Oracle database. This approach permits the use of standard SQL queries to extract common pharma-... [Pg.43]

Accord Enterprise Informatics (AEI) products integrate to offer an Oracle-based enterprise-wide solution for chemical information management. These products draw on the power of the Accord Chemistry Engine and Oracle databases to store, search, and analyze chemical structures, related biological and chemical data, experimental results, and registration information. [Pg.53]

Their software platform is open, component-based, and works with commonly used systems such as Windows, Linux, UNIX, and Oracle databases. The drug discovery product offerings cover an expansive array of topics from basic lead optimization to Lipinski factors and polymorph predictions. The Drug Discovery/ Bioinformatics platforms address problems product confronted by pharmaceutical and biotech researchers in various fields. Product offering includes ... [Pg.54]

System Software Standard software specific to intended use of client (e.g., desktop utilities) and server (e.g., network and database utilities). GAMP level 3 software requiring the version to be recorded and operability confirmed (e.g., Oracle Database and Microsoft SMS) unless software is held on firmware in which case it is GAMP level 2, requiring the configuration and version to be recorded. [Pg.782]

Since the release of version 9i, Oracle also provides a schema evolution feature called redefinition (Oracle Database lOg Release 2 2005). Redefinition is performed on single tables and allows the DBA to specify and execute multiple schema or semantic modifications on a table. Changes such as column addition or deletion, changing partitioning options, or bulk data transformation can be accomplished while the table is still available to applications until the final steps of the update propagation. [Pg.159]

Recendy, two improvements have been made to bring SRS closer to the relational world. First, the SRS Relational module permits the user to extend the SRS query capabilities to include relational databases second, SRS Gateway for Oracle permits querying of Oracle databases from within SRS. In addition, SRS supports various sequence analysis tools such as FASTA, CLUSTALW, and selected programs from EMBOSS. [Pg.395]

MACCS-II is the tool now being used to link data contained in ORACLE databases with the structural information contained in MACCS databases. This link recently created by Molecular Design Limited (MDL), provides a bidirectional data path between MACCS databases and our relational databases (e.g., biological efficacy data, physicochemical data, chemical stockroom data, etc). It allows controlled retrieval of ORACLE data into a MACCS graphical display and printed graphics. [Pg.82]

Therefore, we can obtain data from ORACLE based upon structural retrievals. It also allows us to write information to ORACLE databases from a MACCS application and temporarily switch to an ORACLE relational application if we desire. This latter capability provides a link to ORACLE tools from MACCS. An additional aspect of this link is to use the MACCS interactive display to do ad hoc queries of the ORACLE databases. This allows one to generate lists of chemical entities based upon the... [Pg.82]

The MACCS-II link has its advantages and disadvantages at the moment. To use it, you must always be in MACCS. This problem occurs because you cannot get information from a MACCS database from outside MACCS by any direct method. ORACLE does not have this problem. For example, it is possible to retrieve ORACLE database information into a FORTRAN procedural language program for further manipulation and display. What MACCS-II does provide is a strong link to the outside. This overcomes most of the problems associated with this missing link to MACCS. [Pg.83]

Those parts of the pharmaceutical database which handle input and output of structural formulae, i.e., the registration of compounds, the data sheets, and part of the result output are implemented using MACCS-II. A typical data sheet output is shown in Figure 2. One of the features of MACCS-II which we heavily use is the interface to the ORACLE database management system. The example data sheet shown in Figure 2... [Pg.84]

The CodeGen and Decode programs are applications written for Microsoft Access 97, using the programming language Visual Basic for Applications, Proper installation is required because the application uses three different MS Access databases and several Oracle database tables used by MDL (Molecular Design Ltd.) ISIS/Host and ISIS Base. To access... [Pg.223]

Each of the aforementioned data sources was created and evolved independently over time based on the needs and demands associated with each individual system. In many cases, each system had its own interface in addition to its own data and queries across systems and data sources were difficult or impossible. Most of the data were available in Oracle databases although a significant amount existed only in Excel workbooks and other non-database files. The Oracle data were spread across over 100 database schemas stored on 24 individual database instances. Because of time and resource constraints and our design philosophy, a decision was made to employ a federated approach in which data would be accessed from its original location whenever possible but integrated into a unified view via the Mobius software. [Pg.331]

Systems Integration Technique used to manage the computing systems of companies that use multiple types of software, such as an Oracle database and Microsoft Office. [Pg.1049]

TaylorMade mns the applications on Hewlett-Packard NT and Unix servers and Oracle databases on Unix. The first two modules installed were for handling demand planning and procurement collaboration with ten suppliers, mostly in Southeast Asia. The demand planner module lets the firm prepare collaborative forecasts based on inputs from internal data, retailers, suppliers, and third-party companies. The company uses this information to ensure that the parts necessary for the assembly of the golf clubs are made and delivered on time. Suppliers have been particularly pleased with the system as they can now view what is happening, particularly in terms of incoming orders, and plan accordingly. [Pg.160]

The import of the piping classes into the database is the task of the so-called system administrator of the CAD-system. Professional CAD-systems for process plant engineering are highly complex. Frequently, they are based on the operating system Windows, which has replaced UNIX during the last couple of years, with an Oracle database being lodged, for example. The system maintenance then... [Pg.155]
