Demand planning

The demand planning module is used for short-term and midterm sales planning. It covers basic statistical forecasting methods, but is also capable of taking additional aspects into account. For example, these may be promotions in shortterm sales planning or the consideration of product lifecycles in midterm sales planning.

The objective of order and demand management is to forecast future sales as precisely as possible, manage customer orders from entry to delivery, and consolidate forecast and orders with supply chain inventory requirements in order to generate a holistic demand plan for purchasing, production, and distribution planning. 

Demand planning models determine accurate forecasts based on historical data, understanding of customers buying pattern, economic conditions, etc. 

Evidently, these models and decisions are not independent. For instance, the production planning model relies on the quality of the data generated from the demand planning phase. It tilso depends...
