Communication internal

Companies use the Internet (or an intranet) to communicate within a company. One of the major problems a company faces is how to facilitate communication between locations, groups and even within the same group at the same location. All sizes of companies profit from this abihty although the larger multinational companies probably benefit the most. There is great benefit in sending communications, reports, questions, and notices to individuals in the company around the world any time of day, to any location, nearly instantly. Most individuals can access their e-mail accounts from home or on the road people are more accessible and thus able to respond to needs of colleagues in a more timely manner. [Pg.27]

An intranet provides the infrastructure to solve another long-term internal problem, that of easily searching and reuieving archived reports within a company. A frequent occurrence in industry is the reinventing the wheel because no one is [Pg.27]


Telecommunications systems will include internal communications within the platforms (telephone, radio, walkie-talkie, air-ground-air, navigation, public address) and external systems (telephone, telex, fax, telemetry, VFIF radio, and possibly satellite links). These systems are designed to handle the day-to-day communications as well as emergency situations. [Pg.285]

In earlier years, to reach a remote area, where. separate telephone lines had not been laid it was normal practice to rttn them through the same poles as the HT power distribution lines (generally 11-33 kV). But the proximity of telephone lines to power lines adversely affected the performance of the telephone lines due to generation of overvoltages (Chapter 20) and eleetrical interferences (conductive and inductive interferences, discussed later) on the telephone lines by the power lines.. The language of the supplier notification requirements covers mixtures or trade name products that are sold or otherwise distributed.
