Postaudit Process The postaudit process consists of preparation of a draft report, preparation of a final report, development of artion plans, and follow-up. A draft report of the audit findings should be prepared shortly after the completion of the on-site audit. The draft report usually undergoes review and comment by facility personnel involved with the audit, experienced auditors not involved with the subject audit, functional specialists, and attorneys. The review of the draft report is done to assure that a clear, concise, and accurate report is issued, and not to modify or change the findings. Once this review procedure is completed, a final report can be issued and distributed based on a distribution list provided by the facility personnel. The final audit report should be issued in a timely manner and meet the time requirement specified in the audit plan. [Pg.2287]

By April of 1921, the subcommittee s draft report was ready to be circulated to the larger Committee (69). The major revisions that were made in the draft seem to have resulted from Abel s concern that the report contained too much of a one-sided chemical viewpoint, with the medical side often revealing only a superficial acquaintance with the subject. He feared that there were too many positive statements with respect to therapeutics and fundamental problems in the life sciences that medical scientists could object to (70, 71). Abel s criticisms were taken into account, and the revised report was unanimously approved by the full Committee by early August of 1921 (72). The report was published by the Chemical Foundation in late 1921 as "The Future Independence and Progress of American Medicine in the Age of Chemistry" (73). Herty later commented "I put more of my heart into that document than into any piece of work in my life" (74). [Pg.107]
