Aneurysm

Vascular grafts are tubular devices implanted throughout the body to replace blood vessels which have become obstmcted by plaque, atherosclerosis, or otherwise weakened by an aneurysm. Grafts are used most often in peripheral bypass surgery to restore arterial blood flow in the legs.

Oral nimodipine is recommended in subarachnoid hemorrhage to prevent delayed cerebral ischemia. Delayed cerebral ischemia occurs 4 to 14 days after the initial aneurysm rupture and is a common cause of neurologic deficits and death.
