Aneurysms distribution

Raghavan, M. L., Vorp, D. A., Federle, M. P., Makaroun, M. S., and Webster, M. W. (2000), Wall stress distribution on three-dimensionally reconstructed models of human abdominal aortic aneurysm, /. Vase. Surg. 31 760-769. [Pg.230]

The extension and stress distributions based on the model by Bogen et al. (1980) are shown in Figure 15 for the infarcted region and border zone. In panel A the systolic extensions are shown. Due to the forces imposed by the bulging aneurysm, circumferential extensions in the border zone adjacent to the infarct, are larger than normal. As a consequence, the circumferential stresses at 80° (edge of infarct) are approximately 3.7 times those at 180° (panel B). Away from the border zone, extensions and stresses are approximately uniform. [Pg.51]

Technique will vary significantly depending on the vascular distribution of the mesenteric aneurysm. Typically, celiac and proximal SMA aneurysms are best treated surgically. [Pg.111]

Typically pseudoaneurysm formation in the renal artery distribution is iatrogenic or traumatic. Other causes of aneurysm formation include fihromuscu-lar dysplasia, polyarteritis nodosa, amphetamine abuse, angiomyolipoma in the presence or absence of tuberous sclerosis, and neurofibromatosis. [Pg.112]
