Access roads

If drilling and service personnel require accommodation at the well site a camp will need to be constructed. For safety reasons the camp will be located at a distance from the drilling rig and consist of various types of portacabins. For the camp, waste pits will be required, access roads, parking space and drinking water supplies. 

To allow objectivity of the findings, ElA s are usually carried out by independent specialists or organisations. It will involve not only scientific experts, but also require consultation with official and representative bodies such as the government ministries for the environment, fisheries, food, agriculture, and local water authorities. In activities which may impact on local population (terminals, refineries, access roads, land developments) local representatives of the inhabitants may be consulted, and the public affairs function... 

Onshore processing facilities, and modules brought onshore, have to be cleaned of all hazardous compounds and scrapped. Cellars of single wells, drilling pads, access roads and buildings will have to be removed. If reservoir compaction affects the surface area above the abandoned field future land use may be prevented, in particular in coastal or low land environments. 

Landfill-operation plan. The layout of the site and the development of a workable operating schedule are the main features of a landfill-operation plan. In planning the layout of a landfill site, the location of the following must be determined (1) access roads (2) equipment shelters (3) scales, if used (4) storage sites for special wastes (5) topsoil-stockpile sites (6) landfill areas and (7) plantings.

Existing or possible future railroads and highways adjacent to the plant must be known in order to be able to plan rail sidings and access roads within the plant. Car parking area per car (space - - road), is approximately 25 m. Standard car parking dimensions are 4.8 m x 2.3 m (3.3 m for disabled persons) with access roads 6 m wide. Petrol interceptors for surface water from car parking areas are required where 50 spaces or more are provided. 

The siting of the main process units will determine the layout of the plant roads, pipe alleys and drains. Access roads will be needed to each building for construction, and for operation and maintenance. 

The exponential factors usually given for total plants should be used for grass-root plants, and not for new units constructed at a developed site or expansions to existing plants. Grass-roots plants are those built in a location that has not been previously developed. They cost more than plants built in an area where the company has other plants. When other plants are nearby, access roads, railroad sidings, sewers, and water lines may only need to be extended a short distance. Dock and steam generation facilities may be available, and office, lunchroom, medical, and change-room space may already be adequate. 

Tanks should be arranged so that every tank with a diameter greater than 50 ft (15 m) is directly accessible for firefighting from an access road on at least one side. Tanks 150 ft (45 m) in diameter or larger should be accessible for firefighting from access roads on at least two sides. 

MASJEDDAGHI area is located in northwest of Iran and in the north of East Azerbaijan province adjacent to the boundary between Iran and Azerbaijan. The area s latitude is between 38° 52 03" and 38° 53 22" and its longitude is in the range of 45° 56 05" and 45° 58 29". Its total area is about 8 Km. The access road is JOLFA - SIAM RUD asphalted road. The highest elevation is 950 m from sea level. Weather in this region is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. 

Preplans are similar to floor plans except they will often show features on the outside of the building in addition to the floor plan, although they may have somewhat less detail on the interior of the building. Preplans are frequently made for businesses, churches, and similar types of commercial buildings. These plans are often carried on the trucks for reference by the crews at an incident. A preplan may include information on access roads around the building, connections to sprinkler systems, location of gas or bulk material storage, locations of fire hydrants, information on alarm systems in the building, and other critical information for the crews. 

Once the site is selected, the land purchase must be made. Usually a third party such as a real estate agent is employed to do this work. It is advisable first to secure an option to buy the land so that all of the potential problems can be evaluated or solved before the purchase is made. Other negotiations besides the purchase or lease of the site also need to be negotiated. Zoning, easement, building costs, access roads, taxes, and the like need to be settled before the land is purchased. It is best to keep the identity of the purchaser secret while all this is being handled. Contact between the plant owner and utilities, railroads, pipelines, and the local community need to be finalized in writing before a final purchase.

The transportation and installation of hardware is something to be considered for such installations that are in many cases remote and with poor access. The capacities of the systems involved in the present site were on the limit of conventional tracks and lifting equipment in terms of size and weight in combination with the poor access road quality.
