Building the access road

Clearing and leveling the site often takes place at the same time as building the access road. The same types of equipment are used (bulldozers, excavators, and compaction equipment). When leveling the site, it is important to know the location of buried pipeline and cables so they are not damaged. The contractor needs to contact local utility companies to have them determine if there are any hazards. [Pg.105]
