Parking Areas

Storage areas for maintenance, janitorial, and other service organizations must be provided. Safety items such as fire extinguishers, firehose cabinets, safety hoops on permanent ladders, guard rads, shielding for acid pumps, clearance for electric panel boards, etc, are needed. Manholes and cleanouts for sewer pipes within the facility as well as in the landscape and parking areas should be provided.

Car parking area per car (space - - road), is approximately 25 m. Standard car parking dimensions are 4.8 m x 2.3 m (3.3 m for disabled persons) with access roads 6 m wide. Petrol interceptors for surface water from car parking areas are required where 50 spaces or more are provided. 

Transfer facilities Used oil transfer facilities are any structures or areas (such as loading docks or parking areas) where used oil is held for longer than 24 hours, but not longer than 35 days, during the normal course of transportation. 

Transporters may store universal waste for up to 10 days at a transfer facility during the course of transportation. If a transporter keeps universal waste for more than 10 days at one location, the transporter is subject to all applicable SQHUW or LQHUW regulations.
